Liberals who read only liberal blogs and websites are so gullible. Glenn Beck has the third largest audience in cable television. You can be sure advertisers are lined up to get a spot on his show and a few who bow to liberal pressure won't make a dent in Fox profits. Fox simply moves them to another slot and plugs in somebody else who is thrilled to be there.

Fox's ratings in almost all time slots currently exceed NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, and CNN combined. At the rate they are gaining viewers you can soon add ABC and CBS to the other alphabets who, as a combined group, can't provide the numbers Fox is getting.

@Foxfyre,
Jon Stewart called Beck "the man who speaks the mind of people who have no mind." Smile

@wandeljw,
I would include several people on a2k who supports the MAC way; my way or the highway meme without any constructive solutions and emphasis on fear-mongering.

@cicerone imposter,
While I dont condone the fear-mongering by those opposed to the health care bill, lets not forget something.

The same people calling it "fearmongering" now were guilty of some extreme fear mongering before and during the gulf war, and Desert Storm.
Except then, it was called dissent and patriotism.

So, everyone on both sides is guilty of Fear mongering.

Oh, Bush and his admin are fearmongering about health care now?

Because - and there is no doubt about this - there has been no greater group of fear-mongerers in our recent history, than that idiot bunch who lied us into war with scare stories about WMD which didn't exist.

I would disagree.
You apparently have forgotten those on the left who claimed that the US would need thousands of bodybags because of how powerful Iraq was before Desert Storm.

You dont call that fear mongering?

@Cycloptichorn,
The conservatives live and die on the basis of fear-mongering. That they believe their own lies goes beyond psycho; WMDs, death teams, government take-over, and no more choice.

this caught my eye. honestly, i don't remember that going around so much. maybe it's because i was working a lot of hours for NCR Corp. and trying to make sure i could get parts in and out of the m.e.

one of my compadres got called up for it, but he was in logistics, so he was just over the creek in the channel islands.

i just don't remember gulf I being anywhere near as unpopular as II. but then i didn't have any real problem with the coalition that was formed to knock saddam out of Kuwait.

sort of a funny story. my wife has a friend, who at the time of g I was a professor at the University of Bahrain. when things started really getting hot, she couldn't get her friend on the phone. there was no "internet" as we know it now. ms. dtom was getting worried that her friend was getting bombed or something.

so the next day i get to work and ask the division manager if we had a zone office in Bahrain. of course. at the time NCR was a huge hitter in pos and banking systems. anyway, i get the fax number for the Bahrain NCR zone office, fax a note to them asking if there was any danger, explained about our friend etc.

a day goes by, nothing. same next day. day 3, i get in and there's a fax for me. not only did the NCR guy in Bahrain get back to me that all was fine there, he actually took the info and tracked down our friend at the university to make sure in person that she wasn't freaking out or anything.

i thought that was pretty cool...

Congressman John Mica says the idea of "death counselors" are real.

Are people like this fellow actually this batshit nuts? Or just lying and without anything resembling integrity? It's a puzzle with no good answer.

@blatham,
They don't know the meaning of ethics or integrity. All they are trying to do is defeat Obama's health plan, because that's the only goal they have left of their nonsense party. They believe this will destroy the democrats chances in 2010 of retaining the majority in congress. They will achieve a win (dow of insanity).

The guiding light of the conservatives on TV -- they've revised everything else, so they may as well revise the world map! POX News strikes again! Gives new meaning to "The Mystery of Egypt."

@Cycloptichorn,
I don't know if she's for real either Cyclops, but as an Obama voter, and someone who is very concerned about healthcare, I would "ditto" her comments.

Not to mention the Republicans were going to let children starve, old people eat dog food, and would do away with Social Security, just to name a few tall tales.

In contrast, warnings by conservatives now do have considerable substance to them.

@okie,
Not to mention that according to the liberals, if the GOP should get into power they would make make all abortion illegal, recite the 10 commandments in every classroom, require all women to be barefoot and pregnant in their kitchens, and arm every citizen from age 8 to 80, and murder every innocent civilian in the Middle East. We've already been accused today of wanting to pollute all the soil, air, and water on the planet and wanting to condemn all citizens to death by some horrible disease. That's all before we destroy the planet by refusing to stop global warming of course.

But yes, with a few extremist exceptions by which the conservatives are not doing themselves any good, most are focusing on real threats to economic stability and solvency and freedoms that we value.

Silly little "l" libertarian, you can't make it "illegal" because you don't have the authority to force everyone else in society to follow your anti-choice values. You libertarian conservative GOPers will just do what you always do: Rile up and encourage the crazy extremists, terrorize providers, and assassinate doctors.

@Debra Law,
Just because the GOP doesnt have the power to make it illegal doesnt negate the fact the there were lunatics on the left that made that charge, along with the other scare tactics that Fox mentioned.

Why else would the Left be so adament that any acceptable candidate be pro choice? And why is a pro life stance by anybody so thoroughly condemned?

I don't recall anyone saying the bodybags were needed because of how "powerful" Iraq was....

But.....

Thousands seems to be an accurate count of US soldiers killed in Iraq.
