And yes, I did misread rwnj as WSJ or picked up the wrong link. I'll try to fix that when I get back. Have an appointment shortly.

Okay on my way out the door, but wanted to post this as just one of thousands of reasons that Americans, at least many Americans, no longer trust those in Washington:

March 17:

Specter had disavowed a switch
@ 12:28 pm by Eric Zimmermann
News of Sen. Arlen Specter's party switch today comes after months of strong statements to the contrary by the Pennsylvania Senator.

In a March 17th interview with The Hill, Specter said he absolutely would not switch parties:

"[Democrats] are trying very hard for the 60th vote. Got to give them credit for trying. But the answer is no.

I'm not going to discuss private talks I had with other people who may or may not be considered influential. But since those three people are in the public domain, I think it is appropriative to respond to those questions.

I am staying a Republican because I think I have an important role, a more important role, to play there. The United States very desperately needs a two-party system. That's the basis of politics in America. I'm afraid we are becoming a one-party system, with Republicans becoming just a regional party with so little representation of the northeast or in the middle atlantic. I think as a governmental matter, it is very important to have a check and balance. That's a very important principle in the operation of our government. In the constitution on Separation of powers."

@parados,
The federal Budget for 2009 was PASSED IN 2008 BY THE CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES AND THEN SUBMITTED TO BUSH FOR HIS SIGNATURE. THEN BUSH SIGNED IN 2008 THE FEDERAL BUDGET FOR 2009.

Since 2008, OBAMA HAS IN 2009 added significantly to the 2009 spending authorized by THE DEMOCRAT CONGRESSIONAL MAJORITIES & BUSH IN 2008.

OBAMA DID NOT ATTEMPT TO CUT THE SPENDING AUTHORIZED IN 2008 FOR 2009. INSTEAD OBAMA INCREASED IN 2009 THE SPENDING AUTHORIZED IN 2008 FOR 2009.

Now, the 2009 budget is all Obama's adopted and nurtured baby.

Here's one more chance to get it right, parados. Obama and his supporters are simpletons; They have chosen to solve the problems created by Bush’s excessive spending and lending and rescue the USA’s economy, by INCREASING instead of decreasing Bush's excessive spending and lending.

Wandel, I am still waiting for your acknowledgement that you appear to have incorrectly attribued a quote to me that I did not make.

Okay I went back and looked at that rwnj site and found that the information they were citing came from this WSJ piece. I didn't analyze every point, but I don't see that they materially misrepresented anything in the WSJ piece:

@Foxfyre,
I couldn't see any line where wandeljw quoted the own and official description of rwnj as something you said and that you referred to it.
It's just how they describe themselves, from their website.

As I said before: the "information" is published as an opinion.

@Walter Hinteler,
He didn't specify that it was from their website. He made it look like I said it or quoted it. I just wanted it clarified that I didn't. So sue me. (I was totally unfamiliar with the site and did not want it to appear to be on the record that I supported it if it in fact is a rightwing nut site.)

You're probably in a hurry, your monitor is dirty or similar:

I don't get it where that might look at if you said so.

The facts about the site are openly posted. On the very same site.

Foxfyre, who pretends to have God's ear, claims she will pray for those of us who do not embrace the allegedly divine "ideology" of conservative movement. But, I spoke to God myself. (He encourages us to do that.) He informed me that He does not bless the conservative movement. On the contrary, He informed me that the conservative movement is actually the duplicitous work of the Devil. He called upon me, and others like me, to expose this evil. After all, He doesn't approve when evil things are promoted under the guise of Godly goodness. (E.g., conservative movement messages that war is good; torture is good; greed is good; thirty pieces of silver is good; denying aid to the needy is good.) He wants all who have been deceived by devilish duplicity to open their eyes and see evil for what it truly is!

The more I think about it--you know, with those thoughts constituting an ephiphany manifested through a shower of divine inspiration nearly as good as a burning bush--the name "Foxfyre" should have alerted us long ago to this poster's nefarious mission. (For instance, do you see the "666" in the number of Foxfyre's last "pray" post? Huh? Huh? If that ain't a sign, I don't know what is!)

The FOX, although somewhat cute and loveable in appearance, is known as one of the most cunning and sly creatures that roam among us. And, the Devil is cunning and sly. How else could the Devil have tempted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit? And then there is the image of FIRE--the symbol of eternal damnation in Hell. It was very cunning of this poster to change the spelling to FYRE to throw us off. Combine the two--FOX & FYRE--and we get "Foxfyre."

Enough said, for now, but my devinely inspired mission to expose the evil of the conservative movement has just begun. In the meantime, Foxfyre, I will pray for YOU.

Here's another one that agrees with Rasmussen:

Poll: Public Does Not Want Torture Probe
CBS News/N.Y. Times Survey: Most Say Waterboarding Is Torture, But Disagree With Calls For Congressional Investigation
April 27, 2009

(CBS) The recent release of detailed memos describing harsh interrogation techniques used on suspected terrorists under the Bush administration has fueled calls for a Congressional investigation.

But most Americans do not want an investigation, according to a new CBS News/New York Times poll.
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/04/27/opinion/polls/main4972844.shtml

Why are you promoting a message from the devil? Only the devil would advocate the message that good people should not want to investigate bad deeds--that good people must close their eyes to bad deeds and let bad deeds continue without abatement.

I think, in the name of all things good, we should investigate the evil doers and punish them for their bad acts. Please provide an intelligent argument that justifies allowing evil to go unpunished.

I was quoting an explanation about the blog, in the blogger's own words.

I will now wait in line with TKO and Cyclo for an apology from you.

@ican711nm,
Of course you would ignore the 600 billion deficit in the 2009 budget that existed prior to Bush leaving office. And that didn't include the other half of the TARP funds he had approved.

Trying to blame it all on Obama is partisanship of the highest order ican. But then we have come to expect that from you.

@Debra Law,
It explains to many of us that their hearts are in that dark place reserved for the likes of Foxie, ican, waterboy, okie, and a couple of others on a2k. They see a blowjob as evil, but torture is something we should overlook.

It shouldn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who the evil ones are around here.

Sure. What have I done to you that you want an apology for? I don't recall ever misquoting or personally insulting you or using an ad hominem with you. I have let a lot of your little sniping insults go by without comment. But if you think I have intentionally or unintentionally offended you, please explain what it was.
