Just checked DailyKos and apparently the numbers have been verified by the Democratic co-chair...

Ramona Kitzinger, the Democratic member of the county board of canvass, defended the process. She agreed with Nickolaus that the board "went over everything and made sure that all the numbers jived up, and they did."

"I'm the Democratic vice chair of Waukesha County, so I'm not going to stand here and tell you something that's not true," Kitzinger said.

haha, not contesting the numbers, just saying that it's a funny scenario.

@Cycloptichorn,
Definitely. Apparently, the votes were counted (so, not a case of missing votes), and entered into the data base, but she forgot to hit 'save'. At least, that's my understanding of it.

Nate tweeted again saying he doesn't think there's any 'conspiracy theory', but that Waukesha's vote total was lower than you'd expect.

@Irishk,
Would you agree, though, that this innocent error is going to work in favor of the liberals in the recall efforts?

@realjohnboy,
I don't think Kloppenberg has any plans to concede just yet. I wouldn't. The canvass is probably ongoing, so who knows what mistakes they'll find next?

Not only that, but it's still within the .5% that calls for a mandatory recount, so what the hell?

RJB, I believe that this excellent showing will be a boost for the recall effort, yes. Remember that they really only need to flip 3 seats to win the Senate and only need 2 to keep the bill from being passed again... that looks very doable.

The CoC spent a lot of dough on this race, it was a good job by the Dem - thought I don't agree with all the ads in the race personally - and though I'd love to see a victory, ya gotta be pleased with the effort and the turnout.

Bold words, but we both know better than that, don't we, Okie? Laughing

And if you think I'm wrong, go ahead and tell me who it is that's going to make us need to 'rig the vote.' Love to hear your take on that one.

Once okie gets an idea into his brain, it sticks like super glue no matter how wrong or stupid the issue. It doesn't help to provide facts, because he just ignores them.

When we accuse him of opinions he had made that are outright lies or derogatory, he tells us to go look for them. That's because he has no memory of what he posts.

@Cycloptichorn,
I'm just wondering how many conservatives are going to get hurt from the GOPs destruction of Medicare and other social programs?

It's either masochism or open-eyed self-destruction. Maybe, both.

I tend to have a memory of the Democrats finely honed craft of demagoguery, ci. Remember the Daisy Girl ad by LBJ. That one I do not forget, and most of the Demorats following have learned well from their fellow plantation owners. In case you forgot, here is the famous Daisy Girl ad, designed to scare the bejeebers out of every voter from voting for Goldwater, by painting him as a dangerous trigger happy war monger. Of course we know what happened. As soon as LBJ got in office, he began to escalate our involvement in Vietnam. They are doing the same thing now, saying that Republicans will starve children and kill old people, on and on. It is sickening.

@Cycloptichorn,
Probably human error. I would guess someone is going to be doing a check of the number of ballots compared to the number of voters that voted before it's done. It appears turnout was 50% in the city that wasn't turned in at first.

The funny part is if the votes had benefited Kopplinger, okie and ican would already be screaming fraud.

They screamed fraud about ballots found in the trunk of a car during the Franken recount even though no such thing ever happened.

The head of elections there was a long-time devoted Republican activist and Party worker, before she got into the election work, and she's been cited at least three times in previous elections for really egregious violations of election practices. There is at least the appearance of impropriety.

@MontereyJack,
I'm sure ACORN is working hard at recruiting this woman you speak of.

She's a conservative Republican, H2O. Your side has recruited her already.

@MontereyJack,
You description of her made her out to be just what ACORN and the left look for in a person.
