HEy, all that means is that you got it. We always send Italians in to do the beach work, not the stuff that requires class. Youre "Out there" kid.

So....are you complaining?
Laughing

Let's just say that he was moving a little faster than I was willing to for a first date.

The path to sophisticated womanhood is fraught with frogs as well as members of the Charming family.

One frog down and an infinite number of Prince Charmings to go.

Why do I keep encountering the frogs?

So like, did you let him get to 2nd base?

Third?

The thought crossed my mind for a second. But I'm looking for a substantial relationship. You know where trust and respect makes the rest just so much better.

Marty--

Do you want a romance based like a 1/2 hour sitcom--with eleven minutes devoted to commercials?

At least aim for a season's worth of romantic adventures (and some of them will be misadventures).

Well, the Romans move fast. Laughing
Obviously, you were attracted to him, otherwise you had not gone out
with him, so just go with the flow, marty.

You can't possibly expect a substantial relationship already, you have to squeeze a few lemons in order to appreciate the thirst-quenching lemonade.
Just have fun and enjoy!

Well, I'll be burning in hell because of my first date with Wally then....about 20 years ago.

So, trust, respect and a fabulous time in the sack are mutually exclusive?

I'll admit, I've always had a fantasy about an Italian, preferably Milanese, and I having a mutally satisfying burning in hell experience.

Life's short, you're a grownup. No need to jump at the start looking for "the one"....you need a few practice runs.

I promise, I won't scold you for being a fast package.

I realize that I should go with the flow and take my time in finding the one. I'm just not accustomed to full on public displays of affection(That's putting it mildly) I've never been with such an aggressive guy on a first date. I'd like to at least have an idea of what the guy is about before I feel comfortable enough going further.
I guess I didn't feel an immediate sexual attraction to this man but thought that maybe getting to know him and moving a little slower could have progressed to that level.
Am I being a prude??

Marty--

I was Single Again in the 70's--and the world had changed since the '50's.

Take your Roman's amorous advances as a compliment and mark him down to practice.

The next time you're treated like a Dear Familiar Bedmate you'll know exactly what to do.

Practice.

I don't know, maybe I'm carrying on something deeper from my marriage. I just feel that there was such a deep lack of respect from the person I felt closest to. I just left last night thinking that this guy must have had such little respect for me to think that I was willing to move so fast.

Marty--

Some nice girls do--and some don't.

Which sort of nice girl do you want to be?

You're in charge.
