Mrs. Obama does not have a nanny, only her mother. "Thank God for Grandma!" Mrs. Obama says more than once on the campaign trail, adding that she "couldn't breathe" if she thought her girls, who attend private school here in Chicago, were being neglected for the campaign.

Mrs Obama had a Nanny when she appeared on a TV special.

These kids attend the so-called lab school of the University of Chicago. That way the kids don't have to attend neighborhood public schools.

Next question?

Ms. Obama was a professor at the University of Chicago, correct?
That should answer the question why her children attend that school. Convenient and free. What more could a mother ask for?

As far as her Hispanic nanny. Are you sure about that? Really? Or did she just 'look' Hispanic?

as everyone knows I don't like obama worth a **** but who gives a damn where their kids went to school? They've got a lot of money so they sent their kids to private school just like any of us would if we could afford it.

Not strictly.

Obama taught Consitutional Law at the U of C law school while Michelle Obama was a lawyer for the University of Chicago hospitals.

Most importantly, it's safe.

No, the school is free to kids of faculty of the University of Chicago.

One perk ( Exclamation ) with being a University Professor is your kids go to school free ( school= all the way up to and including graduate and professional school ).

Where I live the public schools are the envy of the district. Most of the kids there (not mine) could easily afford private schools.

That's my question too??? First we bitch about the kids in private school and then we explain why they attend the school?
Go figure.

I personally like Michele Obama more than her husband, whom I also like. I admire Barack Obama's ability to organize, which is his talent. Recall that I was a professional organizer for over 25 years so I appreciate his organizing skills. Obama has been successful in focusing voters' discontent as any good organizer would. However, he would have not been so successful if it had not been for the Bush administration. I give the Bush administration more credit than I do Obama for the movement he has created. Clever organizers use people's oppressors as a foil to win successful campaigns. Obama has been clever by using "change" as his theme instead of anti-Bush rhetoric.

It takes more than organizing skill to successfully govern. Recall, that I never voted for Bill Clinton, but I did vote for Hillary Clinton because we live in dangerous, if interesting times, and need her governing skills.

Barack Obama, if he wins, is going to learn the same lesson George W. Bush learned. It's a lot more challenging and difficult to govern than to campaign. I don't want to go through another period of learning on the job by our president.

I think Mr. Obama is much more savvy and quite aware of the challenges of a presidency than the idiot you just compared him to.

I can respect that opinion, but I disagree with both sides of your position.

Clinton has not demonstrated to me that she is ready to govern on day one as she claims. I don't know that you can point to any successful action of hers that can support that position. I do think she can call upon a large number of experienced people to advise her and that is a plus, but I also think her choices of advisors are sometimes suspect. I also think that Clinton very much thinks of US politics as "us" and "them" and the "them" group is to be defeated, not pursuaded. That's not what I'm looking for on day one, though sometimes that's the way the game has to be played. Finally, I've always had a concern that the Clintons as a couple firmly believe that they know what is best and others should defer to their superior judgement. That's somewhat annoying when people are right, but the Clintons' track record is fairly average, so that makes that attitude a real problem.

Obama has also not demonstrated the ability to govern on day one, but based on his groundswell of support, he certainly appears able to lead on day one. His track record in the Ill. state legislature is one of comprimise and persuasion rather than trench warfare, but he's also held firm to bedrock principles, something that seems rare. To me, speaking out against the Iraq war before the war started was a tremendous risk. Five years ago, that could have wrecked a political career and very few candidates were willing to go there including Clinton and Edwards.

So, do we need a governor or a leader in our President? I'm not certain who is the better governor, but I believe the better leader is Obama. Just for the record, McCain is potentially the best leader, but we don't match up on the issues.

(By the way, GW Bush didn't learn any hard lessons about governing. He ran roughshod over the minority with great success and he's still doing it even though the Democrats are in the majority.)
