By all means, let's excise all less-than-perfect events and people from our history.

That spooky eye on the back. I think that owned a couple of slaves.

Why is that so unfathomable?

I never specified the "one" dollar bill.

Do you consider slave ownership, less than perfect?

Oh, I see.

Ok jason, you don't need to answer, since shewolf took the time to explain it to me.

It suffices to say that these were great men and I would not dishonor such as these. Mind you, I have not expressed my stance.
I am also mindful of this country's marred past and unfortunately these "less than perfect" men participated in one of the most horrific crimes of American History; a crime having much to do with the success of this country.

Also, I asked the question only for discussion, not for arguing or slander, although some are inclined to do so anyway, I would ask all to avoid it if you can.

I'll bet if an advanced alien culture came to earth to figure out who was the superior race here and decided to do it by having a big cook off we'd forget this bullshit pretty damn fast....

I would have to agree.

I have seen conflicting evidence on Lincoln.
The most that can be gathered is that he married into a slave owning family.

Some say his later anti-slavery efforts were politically motivated and not a personal conviction however, unless I am mistaken, he never explicitly owned slaves.

I apologize for the confusion, I was referring to any bill depicting a known slave owner.

Ok, serious question....

What, is your mind is the difference between discussion and argument?

If someone says "yes, you're right" is that a discussion?

If someone thinks your question is stupid, and says so, is that an argument?

I mean, what's to discuss? You presented a statement, and either the person agrees with whatever it is you think, and there's nothing left to say, or they disagree with whatever it is you think, and you say they're arguing.
