@dlowan,
At last!

What an exciting moment! Just in the nick of time for summer! Very Happy

So ... I suppose you'd been sitting on it, quite a bit today?

Verdict?

It's freezing and blowing a gale out there!

I haven't even been able to go out and clean the balcony up.

@dlowan,
So it's a soaking wet bench, being admired from inside?

Hooray for the rain (if not for the rest, like the crazy wind)!

It's raining here, too, now. But it's pretty gentile, compared to what you're experiencing!

@msolga,
Only a bit of the bench is wet...the end near the open segment.

My balcony is odd...it was constructed by putting it in the gap between where my place ends, and where the brick tower which houses one set of fire stairs is.

So...it's surrounded on three sides by building, has a roof consisting of the balcony above, and only opens to the west.

It's an old and very decorative Asian carved teak bench.

Some of the original paint...blues and greens and reds...remains on the legs, and faint traces on the carved decoration at the back.

The old wood, which has faded to a lovely bleached silver, still reddens when it is wet, or oiled.

I won't be oiling it, but I think it needs a scrub!

@dlowan,
Sounds lovely, Deb!

You're gonna post a pic?

Love to see it!

And now .. I've got to go out into that rain. Over to a friend's place for dinner. Saved from having to cook, at the 11th hour! Very Happy

Has it stopped raining in Adelaide yet, bunny?

Have you managed a bit of a sit on it yet?

@msolga,
Just woke up...having coffee...haven't investigated day yet.

I am more likely to be cleaning around it than sitting on it, though.

There seems to be less wind.

Still stuff to do...like hanging things on wall behind bench and a bit of moving.
