It sounds like My Fair Lady (the scene where Alfred P. Doolittle comes to Henry Higgins's house to demand money for his daughter, and Higgins and Colonel Pickering serve him tea), but I think the movie version of My Fair Lady was made after 1960, which would make it technically an in-betweener. But if we count from when the stage version of My Fair Lady was first produced, then I guess it could be considered an oldie!
