A man whistles along to a kid's clarinet playing.

Clue: He's in the shop to buy piano wire, but he doesn't use it for a piano - he uses it for fishing.

I think you got it, Raggedy, and I was about to guess "Mans Favorite Sport" the very funny fishing comedy with Rock Hudson (and Paul Lynde is hilarious).

Yes to Jaws.

I watched that very scene over the weekend, and I don't remember it at all! Maybe it's been deleted from the TV version? Obviously you remember it Raggedy...

Jaws was on AMC here, too, Mac, but I didn't watch it. Once is enough for that one. Too gory for me. Laughing It was piano wire for fishing that cinched it for me. And Robert Shaw whistling. I don't remember a kid with a clarinet though.

Oldie, but goodie: I've made some changes to my earlier post that we set aside.
While serving bread and butter triangles and Earl Grey to their awkward sea-faring guest, the two Brits try to avoid looking at him as they hear low gurgling, erupting into loud rumbling sounds, coming from his stomach. He foolishly grins trying to cover up his embarrassment.
