MacII:
You mentioned Netflix so I thought you ,and perhaps the players here, might be interested in knowing that Netflix sponsored a movie buff contest on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" with Meredith Vierra all this week. Each contestant and all members of the audience received a one year subscription to Netflix. All of the contestants said they were movie buffs, but the most anyone won was by a fellow from Texas who walked with $250,0000. He didn't know the $500,000 question, which was:

What was the name of the diner in the movie "Diner"?

A fellow from Pittsburgh, Pa. who was studying film walked with $50,000. He had to poll the audience and take a 50/50 for the answer to:

Where was Ilsa bound when she boarded the plane at the end of Casablanca?

and he walked away when he couldn't answer the question:

According to the closing credits of the Beatles 1965 movie "Help", the movie was dedicated to the inventor of:

cotton gin; reaper; steamboat or sewing machine

The only one I knew was the "Casablanca" question. Oh, and one more that I didn't ask before and that the contestant lost most of her money on by guessing incorrectly:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" was derived from what poet's work?

I'll tell you the answers when Mac and some others see this post. And no fair googling. Laughing

The choices for "Diner" were:

Windsor Hills; Fells Point; Rosemont ad Allendale

I'll post the answers in the morning.

Raggedy, There are Messengers (1999), numbers 11 and 18.

Has anyone found out anything about Monster. I've done some poking around, but can't find a thing. I know the character was shown at a trial. But I don't remember whether she was shown in prison.

Sorry, just checking in.

The only question from WWTBAM that I feel pretty sure about is the Casablanca question and I agree with Bree.

No idea about the diner in Diner. My guess for the Beatles' inventor is the sewing machine - though Singer didn't invent the first one, it makes a good musical joke.
