Wolfmanx, I have a feeling that we're going to have to get to 100 with insanity. We've gotten to over 80 very quickly. Raggedy will make the final decision.

I'm sticking in my two cents' worth on the Js. I'm not keen on jungle--unless maybe if you don't allow Tarzan movies. Also, I think we'll need to define what a jungle is. For example, The Ghost and the Darkness is about man-eating lions in Africa. But there is no jungle in that movie.

Let's stop with insanity now. Laughing

J = Jail, but women only. (A scene in which one of the leading female characters is in a jail cell or prison.)

chained heat
I never sorry this movie as it looked terrible, but it just popped into my head. I think there was even a sequel.

Starring Linda Blair,

Chained Heat

Let me change the definition of the topic, Roberta. If I allowed a scene where a woman visits a prisoner, I'd take up a full page on each recap. Laughing

J = Jail, but women only. (A scene in which one of the leading female characters is locked up in a prison cell or is a prisoner, not a visitor, in a jail.)
I didn't see "Monster". Maybe somebody else will know the answer.

1. I Want To Live
2. Chained Heat
3. White Oleander

I suggest that we list no more than six movies on one turn.

I can't remember Monster very well. Maybe I never watched the whole thing? Gonna go check put it on my Netflix queue if it isn't there already.

8? Paradise Road (it was a prison camp - does that count?)

I looked it up, Yes it was Geoffrey Rush. In my mind he looked just like Ralph Fiennes. Please, do correct me if I am wrong; my memory is less than dependable.

Women in jail, hm? Difficult...

9. Dancer in the Dark (2000), Björk in jail
10. Schindler's List (1993) (if concentration camp counts)
11. Mata Hari (1985), Sylvia Kristel in prison
12. The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (1999)
13. Notre Dame de Paris (1956), Gina Lollobridgida tortured by the inquisition
14. De Stilte rond Christine M. (1982, A Question of Silence), feminist prisoners

That makes 6 (darn, I just remembered a seventh Confused ) (and an eighth)

I'm not going to include concentration camps, Paaskynen.
What is the other movie you had in mind?

The eighth I had in mind was
Het Meisje met het rode haar (1981, The Girl with the Red Hair) Renée Soutendijk in jail as resistance fighter.
The ninth was another concentration camp victim: Les Uns et les Autres (1981, Bolero. I wonder why a Japanese WWII prison camp counts and a German WWII concentration camp doesn't?
And another title would be
De Aanslag (1986, The Assault), Monique van de Ven in prison as resistance fighter.

I was trying to narrow the definition, Paaskeynen. If one of the featured actresses was in a scene in the concentration camp, the movie should definitely be included on the list. The more the merrier. Smile
