Yep. Thought I recalled that little tidbit. here's her IMdb bio:
DELORES HART
Advanced to prioress at the convent in Connecticut.
Stays active in the arts as an Academy voter by reviewing films.
At the time she became a nun, she was engaged to marry Don Robinson. He never married and remained a close friend.
Daughter of actor Bert Hicks.
Holds the unique distinction of being the only nun to be a voting member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Niece of Mario Lanza.
Her parents divorced when she was quite young.
Of Irish and Italian extraction.
Nominated for a Tony award for "best featured actress" for her role in "The Pleasure of His Company" in 1959.
She received an honorary doctorate from Fairfield University, 2004.
She is now called Reverend Mother Dolores Hart, and is prioress of Regina Laudis (Queen of Praise) Abbey in Bethlehem, Connecticut.
1957 Deb Star.
Suffers from Neuropathy, a crippling disease she has had since 1997.
Personal quotes
On her life before her vocation: "It was not a lifelong dream. I did not grow up wanting to be a nun. I wanted to be an actress. If it had ever been suggested I would one day be a nun, it would have been the last thing on my mind. It was a million to one shot I would ever be a nun."
On her life since becoming a nun: "I have struggled with this call to vocation all my life. I can understand why people have doubts, because who understands God? I don't. When you are dealing with something at this level, you are dealing with mystery."
"I'd done two movies with Elvis Presley. I'd been around Hollywood for a while - and saw how needlessly competitive and negative it could be. It never held my interest."
Where are they now
(1963-) Dolores Hart left Hollywood for good and became a nun. She entered the strictly cloistered Benedictine Regina Laudis Monastery, in Bethlehem, Connecticut, where she still is today.
(November 2004) As the Rev. Mother Dolores Hart of the Benedictine order, she is prioress of the Roman Catholic abbey of Regina Laudis, in Bethlehem, Connecticut, USA.
Good morning.

Exactly, I have the same experience!
36. Roadgames (1981 Australian thriller with Jamie Lee Curtis playing a hitchiker)
That was an interesting story by eoe regarding Delores Hart.
Then...
and now....
Gus you crack me up, but Dolores
You got me with the hitchhiking thing, Raggedy. One pathetic contribution. Sigh. I thought I had one the other night. I was watching a movie, and a character walked up to a car, tapped on the window, and said something. The driver said get in. Turned out it was a taxi.
Do we have to get all the way to 50 with this?
Roberta: Hitchhiking is tougher than I thought it would be. I was hoping we could reach 40. Two more days and we'll move onto "I".
In the meantime:
"I" (we've already used "ice") is not as easy as I thought it would be. I've thought of "inheritance" and "infidelity toward one's spouse". India and Indians are too easy. Any suggestions (
serious suggestions

for the next "I" topic are welcome.
Suggestion: Insects as the I category.
Thanks for the suggestions for "I". (Insects and idols.) Anybody else have a suggestion?
I thought of "indoor" sports (excluding sex).

Illegitimate (children)
Invalids
Invasions
Insanity
Idiots
(ok, maybe my coworkers are getting to me)
Great suggestions. Thinking about it. I like insanity, but it could give rise to some arguments here.
Mac: I'm trying to remember if Timothy Hutton hitched a ride in "Made in Heaven" .
37. Harry and Tonto (Harry (Art Carney) picks up hitchhiking young girl and later hitches a ride with a Vegas hooker)
38. Bound for Glory (David Carradine as Woody Guthrie hitchhikes)

Raggedy,
You can make everybody happy by combining the suggestions: Insane Insect Invasions?

Wandeljw: I don't like "Insects". They make me itch.
What I meant about "insanity" is that one could question whether the movie character was actually "insane".
Mac will have to give us a definition of "insanity" if I select that as the next topic.
What do you say, Mac?
Two more hitchhiker movies and we'll have reached 40.
"Insanity" is an awfully broad topic. How about "insane asylum" instead? Or else I suggest "ice hockey" (you considered "hockey" for the H category, didn't you?).
How about insanity that must be shown to be treated in some way. Not just some meshugina hacking people up or behaving badly.
joefromchicago wrote:"Insanity" is an awfully broad topic. How about "insane asylum" instead? Or else I suggest "ice hockey" (you considered "hockey" for the H category, didn't you?).
I changed my mind about "hockey" because "ice" was a topic in our first A to Z round.
