From the Terrace is correct.
New question:
Colm Meaney (3) + Jonathan Pryce (1)
The Boys from County Clare (Colm Meaney) + Brazil (Jonathan Pryce)
I've not seen either of those movies, but "The Boys from Brazil "- - that was a chiller.
Yes to the Boys from Brazil, and yes it was (a chiller).
Richard Cromwell (3) + Betty Grable (1)
Funny how a second look can make all the difference: I looked at the lists of their movies this afternoon and didn't see anything, but when I looked again just now, it jumped out at me.
The Age of Consent (Cromwell) + What Price Innocence? (Grable)
Yes to "The Age of Innocence" and yes to that second look.
New question:
Mel Ferrer (1) + (of) Mel Ferrer (2)
Mel Ferrer:
The Fall of the Roman Empire (of) The Sun Also Rises.
Yes to Empire of the Sun. Good (but grim) movie.
Oh, I liked Empire of the Sun, but agree that it was "grim".
New question:
Cary Grant (2) + Nick Nolte (1)
This one took a third or fourth look:
The Pride and the Passion (Grant) + Extreme Prejudice (Nolte)
You got it. Pride and Prejudice is correct.
I don't have a new question, but I wanted to recommend a good movie I saw today, called "Junebug". Embeth Davidtz plays the owner of a Chicago art gallery who goes to North Carolina to try to get a local folk artist to give her the rights to exhibit his paintings. The artist happens to live near the family of the guy (Alessandro Nivola) the gallery owner recently married (a week after meeting him), so they stay with his family. The movie depicts the culture clashes and misunderstandings that arise during their stay, but it does so without being condescending to anyone -- as Roger Ebert puts it, "It doesn't portray the small-town characters as provincial hicks, and it doesn't portray the city slickers as shallow materialists".
There's a scene at a church social where the husband is asked to sing a hymn, and does so, beautifully; the look on Embeth Davidtz's face as she realizes how much she doesn't know about the man she married is priceless. Parts of the movie are also very funny, as when the husband's sister-in-law says to her somewhat dim-witted husband, "God loves you just the way you are, but he loves you too much to let you stay that way". I can't wait for a chance to use that on someone.
Cool, I've heard about that film. Thanks for the recommendation.
Thanks Bree. I'll try to catch that one. That is a good line.
Hey Kiddos! Im back!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi yellowlab, you look like a basset hound and you bear a strong resemblance to my friend max.
Nah, Mac.
That's no bassett hound. That's a dachshund that got a dye job and was hung by the ears to dry.
But, I did hear about a yellow lab by the name of Tex once upon a time ago. I wonder.
