Thanks. I've made a note to keep a lookout for "Persuasion". It's not listed for June. I enjoyed "Calendar Girls" and "After Sunset". I was not as receptive to "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", but it might help if I watched it a second time. I was glad I saw "Lost In Translation", but would have liked it better with another actor in the lead. I can't forgive Murray for his performance in the remake of "The Razor's Edge". (lol) I recorded "Cold Mountain", but haven't watched it yet. Tomorrow I'll watch "The Notebook".

And since you like one-word titles:

Kirk Douglas (1)

I loved Bill Murray in "Lost in Translation", but I never saw the re-make of "The Razor's Edge", so I don't hold that against him!

Would the answer to your question be:

Cast a Giant Shadow

?

Yes, to Giant.

Just wondering. Did you like Groundhog Day?

I did like Groundhog Day. I haven't seen it since it first came out, but I know people who love it so much they've seen it dozens of times.

Uh Oh. It's got to be me. Everyone I've talked to about that movie has liked it, except me. I truly disliked it. Laughing

I agree there are some movies where he overdoes the "I'm so cool and laid-back, I'm barely awake" persona in an annoying way. For example, I suspect that's what he did in "The Life Aquatic" (which I didn't see, but I feel like I've seen it because I saw coming attractions for it every time I went to the movies last winter). But I didn't think that about his performances in "Groundhog Day" or "Lost in Translation".

I didn't see "The Life Aquatic" and probably won't watch it went it makes it to cable. There's just something about that man that annoys me. I want to give him a push and tell him to "speak up". (lol)

Hey, we've all got people like that -- I personally never saw what was so funny about Jerry Seinfeld, even though millions of people obviously disagree with me!

I'm logging off now -- see you sometime over the weekend.

I'm not a Seinfeld fan either.

Think of a good question - but, not Mel Blanc. Laughing

Pleasant dreams.

Good Afternoon. You must have posted your question just as I was logging off.

Question: Is your question a trick one - repeat of one we've already had?

Tender is the Night?

Oops -- it was a trick question all right, but the trick was that I forgot we had already used Tender is the Night! At least I used a different actor than you used for the second part of the question.

My only excuse, apart from premature (or maybe not so premature) memory loss is that I'm distracted because I'm getting ready for a trip to London. I leave this Thursday, the 23rd, and come back on the 29th. It's kind of a spur-of-the-moment trip -- I only decided to go a couple of weeks ago, when I heard about a good airfare deal -- so I wasn't able to get tickets for the current London musical hits (Guys and Dolls, with Ewan McGregor as Sky Masterson, and Billy Elliott, a musical version of the movie with songs by Elton John), but I've lined up some shows that I hope will be interesting.

Oooh. That's great. I look forward to hearing all about your trip.

I'll toss a question in just in case you'd like a distraction from your distractions.

Pat O'Brien (1) of + Fred Astaire

I always welcome distractions from my distractions! But, just so this isn't too distracting: how many words in the Astaire title?

Putting this aside to percolate in the back of my mind while I have dinner and play the piano (not at the same time) ...

I hoped you liked the first movement of Beethoven's Sonata No. 6 (Op. 10, No. 2)!

Is this what you had in mind? There's a movie by this title, but I don't think it's based on the Erica Jong novel:

Ring of Fear (O'Brien) of + Flying Down to Rio (Astaire)

Oh, I could kick myself. Or you can do it for me. So sorry. I never read "Fear of Flying" -- nor did I see the movie. When you mentioned your trip, I thought of "flying" right away (I love to fly). I remembered seeing the movie listed, but I didn't bother to google. Next time I'll check it out, believe me. Embarrassed

Don't kick yourself -- it was an easy mistake to make! And now we've each made a faux pas in this game today, so that's that.

I'm about to log off for the night, but I'll just leave this new question before I go. I'll check back tomorrow for your (undoubtedly correct) answer.

The Louis Hayward (1) + Greta Garbo (1)
