I did see Calendar Girls, and liked it -- it's piffle but fun (my kind of movie).

New question:

Chuck Connors (2) + Joseph Fiennes (1)

Good. I'm in a "piffle" mood.

Death in Small Doses -(Chuck Connors) + The Merchant of Venice

(This site is very slow today.)

Sorry, I just had a visitor in my office.

Death in Venice is correct. Finding a title with "Death in" in it was harder than I would have thought.

I'm listening to the soundtrack from the movie Life is Beautiful. It's very nice, in a pastiche-y kind of way (waltzes, fox trots, etc.) before it turns darker. And in the middle of it all is a track of the "Barcarolle" from Tales of Hoffman!

Oh yes, I remember The Barcarolle (which I love) in that movie. I have the movie, The Tales of Hoffmann, with Robert Rounseville, Moira Shearer, Leonide Massine, Robert Helpmann and Sir Thomas Beecham conducting, on VHS tape. I saw it on the big screen in the fifties and was thrilled with the Barcarolle scene. Smile

No need to be sorry. I wasn't able to post here for about 20 minutes anyway. Hope all is well now.

New question:

Tyrone Power (1)

Oh, I just realized I shouldn't have used Deborah Kerr in that question. Well, too late now (maybe). Using her isn't wrong, it just would have been better to use someone else, for a reason that you'll see when you figure it out.

Correct, of course, and you thought of the same Deborah Kerr movie I was thinking of when I wrote the question. When I wrote it, I was thinking of the Ralph Fiennes/Julianne Moore version of The End of the Affair, but then I remembered that there had been an earlier version, which Deborah Kerr was in, which is why it would have been better if I had used someone else from An Affair to Remember.

It was the "four" words for Colin Farrell that did it for me. I never thought of an earlier Kerr version. (lol)

(A) Nick Nolte (2) + Mickey Rooney (1)

Oooh Waving at Mac. We miss you here.

A Farewell to the King (Nolte) + Babes in Arms (Rooney)

I'm just heading out of the office -- I'll spend the subway ride home pondering my next question. (If I think of one before I get home, I'm sure "supinators" will keep me occupied for the rest of the ride!)

I thought "Affair" would bring " A Fare well" to mind quickly.

I'm not going to touch supinators. (lol)
