Oh, yes to Copenhagen. But it was Inchworm that was my favorite. The children singing "one and one are two - - -you and your arithmetic will surely go far" while Danny sang the melody. Couldn't get that one out of my head. Still love that song. (lol)

Oh Mac. Yes you do. (lol) Danny and Peter on the boat and an accordian(?) playing and a full male chorus.

Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Friendly old girl of a town
'Neath her tavern light
On this merry night
Let us clink and drink one down
To wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Salty old queen of the sea
Once I sailed away
But I'm home today
Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful
Copenhagen for me
I sailed up the Skagerrak
And sailed down the Kattegat
Through the harbor and up to the quay
And there she stands waiting for me
With a welcome so warm and so gay
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Friendly old girl of a town
'Neath her tavern light
On this merry night
Let us clink and drink one down
To wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Salty old queen of the sea
Once I sailed away
But I'm home today
Singing Copenhagen, wonderful, wonderful
Copenhagen for me

Can't remember the name............was it remade with Darryl Hannah? I keep thinking 'the incredible shrinking woman'.....but then she wouldn't be ripping the roof off!...... or was it Lilly Tomlin?

Welcome aggie -woman and Sarah Morgan. Well, whoever it was, I know I didn't see it. (lol) It's Bree's turn, but I don't think she'll mind. So, is it an:

Oldie - before 1960
Inbetween - 1960 to 1980
Newbie - 1981 to present

Hi folks--sorry to pull you off track, but I also saw the wonderful Andrea Marcovicci show--if you want to cancel your Amazon order, you can order it directly from her site http://www.marcovicci.com/

She is a great fun person to watch on stage and since Fred (and Danny Kate, by the way!!) is still a major heart throb for me, it was a wonderful show. That Can't Take That Away From Me is second only to Face the Music and Dance in my book. Some amazing songs that night! Oh, and best line has to be "Dictators would be better off if they zoom-zoomed now and then..." from Slap that Bass.

Sorry to butt into this intriguing game--I've been watching off and on, and finally got one (Danny Kate) but bree trumped me again!

Oh, and Attack of the 50' Woman actually was yelling at her badguy husband, Harry.
Maybe that was actually Liz Taylor in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf "George didn't think it was funny at all!" Well except for the ripping the roof off. Maybe if you count it as figuratively ripping off the roof. ;-)

Loislane: WOW! Great site. Thank you.

Although two of the CDs I've ordered from Amazon are for sale on the site, I don't see the Irving Berlin one, (Always). It's listed, but I don't see that it's for sale. It has five songs I really want, one of them being When I Lost You", which I've been looking for for quite some time. It's odd that the Berlin CD isn't for sale on the site. I'll check again to be sure I haven't overlooked it. If Amazon doesn't send me the 3 CDs by January, I will purchase from the site you've given us.

Bree: Don't forget it's your turn to post a movie question. I just jumped in to give the quiz a boost up.

Loislane: Great. Andrea's CDs have been on order with Amazon since August (I think). I found out about her from Bree when we were discussing different versions of "These Foolish Things", another favorite of mine.

VCR alert: on Sunday night, the PBS station in New York will be showing the 1957 CBS version of Cinderella, with a Rodgers and Hammerstein score and starring Julie Andrews. According to the New York Times, this will be the first time it's been shown in 47 years. The Times review also says the show doesn't hold up very well (the reviewer calls it "static" and "slow-paced"), but who cares -- I'll be watching it. I hope other PBS stations around the country are showing it too.

How fabulous is that! It was on the cover of one of the PBS guides and I can't wait!!

I remember being with my dad in Barbados and hearing it was going to be on this short wave service. I could almost hear it. So much noise and interference, I finally had to give up. sigh.
But to actually see it!
In the Bay area it will be on Saturday the 11th at 7pm!

Hurrah! I think we're going to get it here in PA. I had completely forgotten that Ginger Rogers and Celeste Holm were in Cinderella. I guess I was too busy watching the Prince.

Raggedy, Ginger Rogers and Celeste Holm were in the 1965 TV version of Cinderella, which starred Lesley Ann Warren (and from which I think the picture you posted is taken). The 1965 version is probably better-known than the 1957 Julie Andrews version (the one PBS is going to show), because it's been shown on TV more frequently.

In the 1957 version, the queen and king were played by Dorothy Stickney and Howard Lindsay, and the stepsisters were played by Kaye Ballard and Alice Ghostley (!) Here's a link to the imdb cast listing:

Oopsy Daisy. Wrong time, wrong place, but the prince's face is still a charming face. The 1957 version - of course - I remember it well.

(I loved Julie's rendition of "In My Own Little Corner". )
