Very Happy Bree. Oh I just thought of one.

Since we're still waiting for a clue from Aggie_woman (and Aggie, I am so curious - are you a Texas Aggie or a marble player or just a female named Aggie ),and because I feel that Bree won't mind, I'll submit the question now, before I forget it.

Nope. Don't think Humphrey Bogart ever played a baseball player - or Tracy.

OK. Three guesses for a clue: This clue relates to two of the movies this actor appeared in. All the movies were before 1960.

Right in the spirit of Christmas, I hear the "bells" on "high".

Very Happy Yes to Sinatra. "It's All Right With Me" made me think of Can-Can and Sinatra. I loved the B'way soundtrack and was so disappointed in the movie version.

At 8PM I'm recording A Lion in Winter onto a DVD. I love O'Toole and Hepburn in that one. I thought O'Toole should also have gotten an Oscar. (Cliff Robertson got the Award for Charly that year.)

Have you got a question for us?

I don't have one right now, so if you've got another one, please go ahead. If not, I'll try to think of a new question while I make dinner.

A brief diversion while bree does dinner...oh, at last twice from the post date.

I loved the rendition of Cinderella. Hampered by being a live production (voices appearing off screen so they could change) and a short on at that, it was still very sweet. I thought the sisters, Alice Ghostly and Kaye Ballard were hilarious and the King and Queen were a lovely couple as well.

On one station they had several bits of commentary with edie Adams, Julie Andrew, the Prince and the wonderful Kaye Ballard during the pledge breaks. I also see that it is now available on DVD.

I thought about the comment bree said a reviewer made-it was dated. errr, it's Cinderella! Anyway, it was sweet and fun and as one reviewer noted should be an annual event like the Mary Martin Peter Pan--but I haven't seen that in ages and it's one of my very favorites!

Hi Loislane. I'm glad you enjoyed Cinderella. Our station didn't air it. grrrrrrr. Saturday they had Get Down: Disco Explosion (whatever that was) and Sunday they had Jim Brickman for the umpteenth time. (But, I was able to tape onto DVD from the Brickman show a young singer, Joshua Payne, I really like a lot.) PA will probably get Cinderella next summer.

I enjoyed the songs in Cinderella. I remember them from the later version fairly well, and did lots of singing along.

However, there were a lot of technical difficulties in both broadcasts. (It aired twice here. And yes, I watched it both times.) The audio would pop and then fade almost off. And the visual sort of blacked out a few times too. Unfortunately, the station aired most of the program with the words "Technical Difficulties" across the bottom of the screen. Sad

I hadn't realized that it had been broadcast live originally - or that it was only broadcast that one time and never again! Anyway, mostly it was great, though the camera seemed unnecessarily close to the actors a lot.

Do you suppose that between shots while filming Victor/Victoria, Julie Andrews and Lesley Anne Warren sang songs from Cinderella together? Very Happy

Ha! That's so funny--I had completely forgotten that they were both Cinderellas! God, I hope they did sing those songs together.

I don't know if it just appeared that way, but the Victor/Victoria cast sure seemed as if they were having a ball. I sure did! I love the image of Lesley Warren in her Chicago, Illinois number outfit, and Julie in tails singing In my Own Little Corner!

Loislane: You mentioned Mary Martin (Peter Pan). I love Mary Martin. And even though my movie buddies here are probably tired of hearing this:

The first stage performance I ever saw was Annie Get Your Gun with Mary Martin and she had the longest, loudest, standing ovation I have ever seen. I was hooked on musical theater from that day on. Very Happy

Well, now "Ten Minutes Ago" has replaced "Wonderful Copenhagen" as the song I can't stop humming! Raggedy, I hope your PBS station gets around to showing Cinderella eventually, because I think you'd like it. (And, mac, I hope your PBS station shows it again without those technical problems.) Yes, the production values are outdated, but I thought that only added to the charm of the show, and besides, what are a few primitive production values when balanced against that great score?

Here's a new (long overdue) question. This actor has played:

Senator
Naval officer
Detective (multiple times)
Impresario
