D and D, what is your thinking now? Visitation of small groups, with checking, or all at one time?

We have begun to realize that friends should just come when they have time between other sightseeing (not that we qualify as sightseeing). Just give us a call--we will pm you with our phone number.

Maybe on Sat. pm we will have a cookout with everyone cooking whatever they like or--especiall since the picnic might not be doable for us--or for BumbleBee.

We are flexible about this, so please don't feel obligated to change plans in order to be here. We will have hot dogs and burgers on hand-=-in the freezer= and other goodies, so it can be a last minute thing. If anyone just feels like hanging out and understands that Bob might need to take a nap, feel free.

We have invited our next door neighbor to come to some of the meals and visits. She is a great woman who teaches gifted students at a local middle school--in fact, she and Walter hit it off very well last year. She will be a lovely addition to the group. We became friends with her so quickly when we moved in, that we had exchanged house keys with her within a month. I'm sure you all will enjoy meeting her.

Sounds good.

So it might make sense to meet at the Flying Star on Friday late afternoon/evening.

Say, I just recalled something about the Flying Star. You order in one place, and pay in another. Kind of avoids the hassle of splitting the check.

Sounds great, all and everything.

Especially what dyslexia wrote:
personally, I endorse none of the above. I am the only native to these regions.

Hmm.. Ok.. so no park meeting.

Even I have tried to call them, and get vague answers about shade. So if it is too hard on a few, then it is not worth it in the long run .

Besides I can just give Bean some sedative and take her anywhere anyway..

( Im kidding people.. really...)

Oh shewolf, you'd better be kidding. The picnic sounds like so much fun and even if a few can't make it, that shouldn't prevent others from the enjoyment. And, I remember reading that JPB wants first dibs at giving little bean a ride on the swings-if there are swings.

I know you said you were just kidding, but I worry that there might be some concern about whether to go or not. Please, the whole purpose of this roundup is to have fun--this is a vacation with some of the best people to be found anywhere--so let the party begin!!!

I agree with Diane. I would feel bad if you and others didn't go where you want. I will enjoy having a chance to meet old friends and new friends to the best of my ability. I will use my crutches if necessary.

I didn't notice swings (might have missed them, I was looking for benches and trees), but there is plenty of run around space at Tingley. We still haven't been through the nature preserve part to the shore of the Rio Grande to see if there is lay-a-blanket or rug with pillows space with some shade. From the website, it looks like there may be. And we still haven't been across Central to the other area to check it; said to be benches and trees there.

Umm. just realized you now know that I am on the computer. This, I will have you knw, is just to get myself in the correct mental attitude to actually get those bills paid, nothing more, and certainly not to visit with friends.

I was kidding about the sedatives

but not about the park..

I guess we should keep that meeting then?

Im sorry, I just thought it sounded as though it was going tobe a bit much for people. I dont want anyone to have to bake in the sun if they dont have to Wink

But on-ward park meeting then!

Even though I won't be there......I love reading the excitement between all of you, leading up to the meet. You are a wonderful bunch of people and I hope you have a simply fantastic time. (which I know you will!)

Will be looking forward to LOTS of pics! Especially of that cute little Bean.

Your neighbor sounds wonderful. Teaching gifted students is such a commendable job. A big thumbs up to this awesome lady!!!

Oh yeah........and the fact that she took to our dear sweet Walter so quickly, speaks volumes about her, also. Who could NOT love him!

Anyhow .... I just wanted to wish ALL of you the BEST! And may time slow down a little bit for you, while you enjoy each others company.
