@ossobuco,
I agree with ossobuco about not selling to friends and acquaintance. Don't get me wrong, she should focus on selling to people who are looking for skin care, cosmetics, etc. She can send a postcard to let her friends and acquaintaces know that she is selling Mary Kay, and that should be it. If they are interested, then they can contact her for service. It is not easy. But usually when people try it, they like it, and if they are provided with good customer service they become loyal customers. I started selling Mary Kay in October 2008, the profits are good; but like I said it is not easy. Just don't buy inventory like they tell you too. We are Mary Kay representatives, we shouldn't keep inventory; follow the Just in Time method. Once you place your order of 400, our cost is 200 plus tax and shipping that qualifies us to order at 50% for the next two months I believe. It takes about 3 days for me to get the product; to me that is fast.
