That's very kind. Thankyou, halfback. The compliment is returned.

Since you are in Mexico and by your surname, don't appear to be a US Citizen, I question your point for being here.

Teeny, if this board, or even just the Politics section, were only for US citizens, this whole thread wouldnt have existed. I mean, considering that I started it - and I aint no US citizen, and I dont live there either.

This is not a board for Americans only. Now go and apologize to fbaezer, who happens to be one of the smartest contributors of the forum.

Re: teenyboone
I hadn't really taken the time to really note it and just because it says someone is from a certain country, doesn't make it so. In another forum, I don't identify myself from being from ANY country, by choice. Whether you choose to ignore my posts, is up to you and YOUR ignorance! Be careful in name calling, it can come back to bite YOU on the bottom. I DID, look at a map and I apologize, because India is in Asia, but the way the American Media categorizes geography has ME confused. As I said previously, before WWII, there was NO Middle East and there still isn't, except what's depicted by mostly American Media. I am in other forums, thank you very much, with individuals from every corner of the world and to pick one sentence out of a post, rather than the thought itself, is ignorant!

Have a look at the maps, please.
India is not in the Middle East.

Ignore me all you want. Nothing personal, but this is not a definitive answer to anything, except someone knows geography, perhaps, better than I do. Maybe he/she, can get his other brothers and sisters, to return home, instead of having our border agents, arrested, for doing their jobs! All I know is, I can't cross the Mexican border, get a job and stay there, illegally. Think about it!

BumbleBeeBoogie wrote:
teenyboone, haven't you noticed that A2K is made up of posters from around the world? Many of them are very wise, especially the one from Mexico you attacked.

I didn't attack anyone! He/She didn't read anything I wrote! Is it WISE, as you say he is?

Such statements as yours signals the rest of us to ignore your posts---unless you smarten up.

Maybe YOU should smarten up and be less threatening, as you are being! I'll just IGNORE YOU! I thought this was America, an American website, where I could use my right of FREE speech, while you threaten to STIFLE it!

It's amazing what a tiny geographical correction can do in some people's psyche. Their personae crumbles and the real person appears.
When you are unable to assume a mistake, you fall further into the moving sands.

This post was the second obvious attack on my nationality. I can't have an opinion because my "brothers and sisters" are illegally in the US. (Actually, I do have a brother in the US, he's there legally since 2000 and had to pay $10,000 dollars for him and his family to be residents).

There are, indeed, several thousand US citizens working illegally in Mexico. Their status is used by some companies who hire them as a blackmail weapon.
But, as Big Brother said: "Ignorance is Bliss".

There is a huge paradox ("Doublethink", according to Orwell). teenybones talks about free speech while wanting to silence another poster, and accuses a defender of free speech of threatening to stifle it.

Internet is not in America. It's in the world. A2K is not "an American website". and "free speech" cannot breach the TOS.

I will not digress any more, but tell tennybones that she should apologize to (US citizen and worker's rights champion) BBB, that her natural presidential candidate is Tom Tancredo, and that her natural company in this site are chjsa and Michael1.

Nonsense. I'm from Holland and I live in Hungary, and we know of the Middle East just like Americans do.

Nobody is threatening your right of free speech. You've simply been pointed out that you were wrong, first on India, and then on implying that people who are not US citizens should not be on this forum. You're free to be wrong about a thousand things more and nobody would "stifle" you, but it will be pointed out by others.

And again, this forum is not America - it's the Internet, and it's an international place.

What?

So now, because fbaezer told you you were wrong about calling India a country in the Middle East, you're going off at him about his "brothers and sisters" who must surely be illegal immigrants in the US? Because he's Mexican? And all that introduced with a "nothing personal"?

Dude. I mean, girl. Someone called you out on a mistake. Thaz all. End. Collect yourself, pick yourself up and start over again. Railing at someone and going into all kinds of completely irrelevant unpleasantries - about how he shouldnt be here if he isnt a US citizen, how if he's Mexican he should then just call his "brothers and sisters" back from America - all this nonsense - isnt doing any good whatsoever, it just makes you look bad.

So take a deep breath, gather yourself, and go back to business as usual.

First, - learn how to spell. My Name is Boone, like Daniel Boone

2nd - Don't know who Tom Tancredo is, since I am a registered Democrat and you're NOT! He is NOT my Natural candidate.

3rd - I am African-American and still waiting for my own freedom! I am the daughter of 3 generations of Black Men, who fought in the World Wars,
Viet-Nam, Gulf Wars 1 and 2. My father was a Buffalo Soldier, that fought the Nazis in Italy! He fought for a Democracy that still isn't promised to the 12 million Blacks, descendants of 450 years of slavery with NO reparations, to the Jews and Japanese, but nothing to us!

4 - before you and Nimh, whoever that, is rag on me, you need to check yourself, wih your racist rhetoric, assuming that I am either a redneck or some other!

5 - since I AM in the United States, I DID assume that A2K, was/is a US forum. Excuse me, but I DID retire from AT&T Bell Labs and was using USENET, before it became WWW, a software engineer, by profession and yes, I KNOW that the i-net, is international! Get a hint!

6- Nimh, stick to what you know and unless you're sleeping in Mexico, since I am NOT addressing you, buzz off!

7 - FYI, I support Obama, since I have been voting for whites, all my voting life, but NOT against Hillary or ANY Democrat, running!

8 - BOTH of you ought to stop assuming what's in my mind! I did assume mistakenly that India was part of the Middle East although ALL of the countries IN the so-called Middle East are in West Asia and I DID know that India was an Asian country. Read my lips! America HAS reported all of the nations aforementioned as "Middle Eastern". Not my words. The press here, spouts enough untruths, until they "appear" to be true. If you lived here, you'd KNOW what I'm talking about!

9 - Apologize? I already did, as you BOTH are not reading my posts, but "cherry-picking" any error YOU think! You BOTH need a life!

10 - Kiss my Black A$$!

This is a hostile group, with an obvious axe to grind! Sign o the times. Seriously, not looking for one. Compliment that is. One of Bush's campaigns is "Shock and awe"! So much for that. Cool

I don't get the hostility you show, teenyboone. Many of us here probably agree with you on some matters. Well, I do understand (I know that sounds condescending but not meant that way) - it's defensive and emotional. But still - unfortunately, your explosive invective is insulting and alienating, and almost funny.

I'm an emotional poster myself, as everyone here will nod. But even I know that insults based on guesses, assumptions, only degrade any argument you have. As it happens, you've insulted in some kind of general spray at the non black world, upon slight corrections from those you insulted not related to racial discussion.

You are welcome, for talking together. Get a grip.

Back when I made my recent vote on OTHER, here, I did a quick riffing search on who said what, when, re Iran. Sabers afoot, even if cloaked. Very discouraging for such as me.

SECOND A2K STRAW POLL White House 2008
Whew....I didn't mean to cause so much discord with my personal opinion. I'd like to close with the following quote from my dad:

"America has the best politicians money can buy."

I think it's sad that there could be a leader out there that could turn this whole world around, but just doesn't have the money to enter the race. Instead of America having such a bad rap around the world (which is caused by our politicians), we could be so much more. For those of you who do not live in the U.S., the people are a bit different than our elected leaders portray us.

P.S. All of us have an opinion. The best way to change one is to educate.
