I had my pre-non-surgical admission meeting today at Bellevue. The needle biopsy is Monday.

I'm noivous.

In theory, I should be in and out in the same day. However, they're gonna pierce my lung with a needle. It may collapse. Then I'll be admitted.

Noivous as I am, I say let's get this show on the road.

Sigh.

On the road and over!!!!

@ossobuco,
I have to be at the hospital at seven in the morning! The person from the social services agency will meet me at my building at 6:30. I won't bother going to sleep.

Hoping very hard that my lung behaves itself and that I'll be home the same day. However, in case it doesn't (and collapses), I'm bringing supplies in case I'm admitted. Books and earplugs.

I'll let you know when I'm back.

@ehBeth,
Ok, me too. I'm making bread now, so breakfast will be toast, bacon, tomato, and whatever I can dig up since I don't have lettuce. But I'll probably make Panzade's coleslaw, that's even better.

Anyway, Roberta, if we don't talk again before tomorrow, you know we're tagging along.

@dlowan,
Back from Bellevue.

They couldn't do the biopsy. Why? Because the little mass turned into an air bubble, and as the doctor so wisely stated, "You can't get a biopsy of air."

What does this mean. Dunno. It could mean that the mass is evolving. It could mean that it's not cancer but an infection. It could mean any number of things.

The biopsy doc called my cancer doc. She's away on vacation.

So right now I don't know nuttin'. But I have a feeling that this is going to be a let's check it again in a month kinda thing.

@Roberta,
Good that they didn't find anything, but bad in that it must mean more worry and uncertainty for you. When does your cancer doctor get back from vacation?

@vonny,
osso, I got a chocolate cake. I 've had to give up on bacon. It's too crisp for me to chew. Some day. Sigh.

Vonny, They did find something. It's just not what it used to be. And it was not possible for them to do the biopsy. The doctors did not suggest that it isn't cancer. (I asked.) At this point nobody knows what it is. But it's definitely something.

An aside: When it was my turn to go up to the desk to be checked in, I got really scared. Then I saw Heaven's face in front of me and felt her beside me. I smiled. Dem dawgs is amazing--even if they're just in my head.

@Roberta,
I feel your dilemma about bacon being to crisp for you. I will, as a personal service to you, pre-chew your bacon for you. What are friends for?
