@ossobuco,
It was like a weight being lifted from my shoulders when the surgeon told me the good news. So much has been on hold since I was first diagnosed with cancer - as you know, life sort of stops for a while! But I was fortunate - good doctor, good surgeons, good luck! I feel as if I can breathe again - been holding my breath for the past three months!

@vonny,
Congrats, vonny! I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2008, and went through eight weeks of radiation treatment. I relied on what my doctor and the other specialists told me about the best way to treat the cancer, and I also did some research on the internet. My Gleason score was 4/4, so I agreed on the radiation treatment, and I've been well with no recurrence. I get my PSA checked about once-a-year, and it shows lower than 4 (normal).

Since I had faith in my physician and other specialists at Kaiser, I didn't worry all that much.

@vonny,
vonny, I'm very, very happy and relieved to hear this. I understand exactly how you feel about the weight being lifted off you.

Relax. Go take a picture of a chicken.

Perfect reply, if you know the context, a joyful one.

@vonny,
That's really good news, Vonny. Very happy you finally got something definitive.

You've been under enormous stress the last month waiting for the news. You can now start making plans in the future again. Now it is time for a bit of celebration, eh?

Don't laugh - that's precisely what I had planned for tomorrow! Yay - other people might decide on a different type of celebration, but for me - well, being able to get 'down and dirty' with the animals is my idea of happiness - what else!

Again, thank you thank you thank you - to everybody on A2K who has been so kind and thoughtful, and supportive to me over the past three months. I am truly grateful. And for humour like yours, Roberta, that has helped me in the bleakest hours of the night.

Back from Bellevue. Saw the psychiatrist. A very insightful man. Had my arm X-rayed. Don't know when I'll get the results.

Went to the asthma clinic without an appointment to find out if I could get a free sample of the med I can't afford to pay for. No dice. But I did see a social worker. No immediate help.

Got my social security payment today. Part of it was already gone because I had overdrafts at the bank. Some of it is gone cuz I hadda get food and to and from the hospital. Also I made a partial payment on my cable bill. A goil's gotta have her tv and computer.

Waiting for my last paycheck. I will make a partial payment on the rent.

I picked up the mail and saw an envelope from the company that has remaindered my books. All excited. A royalty check??? Nope. A notice that the company is now in Chapter 11.

Otherwise, everything is peachy.

@Roberta,
I'm glad that you had your arm X-rayed - I do hope you get the results soon, and that it's something easily put right.

Sorry that you weren't able to get any free samples of the medication you need for your asthma - that's so bad! Fingers crossed the social worker might be able to help in some way. All the stress can't be helping you at all - especially if New York's in the middle of a heat wave at the present time.

Peachy? Okay - go take a photo of a bird! (or a social worker).

Hope things turn out okay for you - and fast!

@vonny,
No camera. Razz

It's currently 96 degrees.

I'm gonna try to lump tomorrow. I'm going to force myself to not worry. (Easier said than done.) But I need a good lump day.

@vonny,
vonny, A lump day is when I sit around like a lump. No havetos, gottas, shoulds, etc. In the past I ordered in food on lump days. Not this time. Too pricey. I'll make something easy and fast.

osso, oof and a half.
