Calamity (she of that weird sourpuss face) Jane, suggested everyone chipping in by sending $10.00. That's a great idea.
If CJane doesn't get many responses, what about as many of us as possible writing to Oprah with Roberta's story, explaining that all of us have met online and have become dear friends? Roberta's is a very unique story that someone as inundated as Oprah and her producers might actually take seriously. They are always looking for unique stories and a group who all met online would be a moving and unusual story for her show.
If we could each write a short summary of our community on a2k and how strong friendships have grown, along with Roberta's story, it just might work.
Our emails would have to be synchronized to arrive at the same time, or all sent (forwarded) by one person.
I'm not a good organizer, but here is an idea of how to start:

Here is an excerpt from the article:
Quote:Don't send your pitch to Oprah Winfrey. Watch the credits to get the names of producers who work on the show. If you have a media kit, send it to the appropriate producer. Tell them why you think your story is right for the show, and how you see your story fitting into the format of the show. Include a copy of your book, a product sample, a short video, or other items that help make your case. You can get the current mailing address at the Oprah web site:
