@Roberta,
5 hours and 10 minutes?!! That's terrible.

And all for an irregularity. I certainly hope that the follow-up in a month finds that it's nothing.

@Roberta,
Oh Boida...I am so sorry. Now you have to do it all over again and worry for a month about something that will likely turn out to be nothing.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs and dammits))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

That's if you have room for that in your worry schedule.

soz, I find a five hour ten minute wait to be inhumane.

deb, Always room on my worry schedule. I'm so zonked from the wait that I'm barely cognizant of what the hell happened.

@Roberta,
Nuts, to both the wait and the irregularity.

@Izzie,
Thanks, Iz. Is bollocks a bad word? Not sure I spelled it right. Don't worry about bad words. If the word fits, use it.

I'm going back to Bellevue tomorrow. Gonna see the internist. A new one. This means that I will have to spend a long time explaining stuff. I have a small list of complaints. Nothing that in any way could be remotely considered life threatening.

Cringing about waiting. Waiting at Bellevue is a given. But after yesterday, I don't know how much more waiting I can deal with in one week.

Not noivous, but I have to there at the crack of dawn (9:30).

Sink update: The drain works. I guess all the Drano I poured in finally kicked in.

I'm getting ready to go Bellevue. I got two hours of sleep.

@Roberta,
I have done something for myself and Mr. P. that I find very useful. I have typed up a list of all medical problems, surgeries with dates, current meds, including supplements, and allergies.

When I go to a new doctor, and the receptionist hands me the huge pack of paper that asks for information, I simply write, "see attached"in the proper places. It saves a lot of time, it is typed, so it is easier for the receptionists to read, and I am less likely to forget something important. A couple of receptionists have thanked me profusely for making their lives easier.

I also have a list of all my docs, with their addresses, phone and fax numbers and specialties. So far I have not had to give the list to another doctor, but I find the list handy for myself.

@Phoenix32890,
Thanks, Phoenix. All my medical information is in the computer at Bellevue. And all the doctors have access to it all. I don't see private doctors, so there's no need for me to carry a list.

I carry a current list of medications I'm taking, just in case there's a new one and the current doctor didn't notice.

@Roberta,
How did it go today, Boida?

I do hope you didn't have a long wait and that your new internist listened to you

@Izzie,
I got to see my old doctor. He didn't leave yet. Hooray. I gave him my small list of new complaints.

Pain in knee--bursitis.
Itching--relieved to learn I don't have lice or bed bugs. Probably something atmospheric. He gave me an anti itch med.

Wait time--minimal.

@Roberta,
Oooooooh...ok, that's a better result - we like the "in the know" doc - it's so tiring having to go over old ground with every new one that comes along

now wishing that the next month will not linger and you'll have better news re the throat doc... I know how that is hanging on you... wish it were different for you

glad too that you didn't have to wait too long... sending you love, hugs and anti-itch-vibes... is it hot out in New York right now? Could it be excema / psoriasis? Hmmmm... hoping that the med will help

x

@Izzie,
Izzie, If it was excema or psoriasis, I'm sure the doctor would have told me.

No, not hot. A beautiful, cool spring day.
