I continue to love the art therapy. It's a dynamite combination of fun and revealing. I started drawing something today and burst out laughing. I drew something I had no idea I was gonna draw. We discussed it. It made perfect sense in the context. But I still laugh when I think about it.

I'd love to know what you drew & what you made of it, Roberta.

But don't feel you have to say if you'd rather not. Smile

@Roberta,
Doesn't sound like too much of a mistake. Sounds like you had some fun, got in some laughs and are planning for more of the same on Sunday with Sheila.

Be sure to take a camera for pictures of snow and friends, and so they can take some of you.

@Butrflynet,
I've found, somewhat by mistake, that neosporin can be itch stopping. But don't trust me, I may have small tubes of goo confused.

butrfly, I don't have a camera. Sorry.

olga, I was talking about stewing about things. To me this is a good thing because I stew and I stew and then I have things figured out. So stewing eventually leads to a resolution.

The therapist asked me to draw stewing. I started with a big kettle. I drew flames under it. You can't stew if nothing's cooking. Then I drew heads and faces of people floating around in the pot. The people represented people or issues I've been stewing about. Then, before I knew what I was doing, I drew a gigantic carrot. This is what made me laugh. I also drew handles on the pot and a large me standing over the pot. Remember I'm the stewer, not the stewee.

The carrot provided context. It made the stew a stew. I had no idea I was going to do that. I still laugh at that gigantic carrot, orange with greenery sticking out of the top. Did not know it was coming.

This is amazing stuff--to me anyway.

I think it's pretty amazing, insightful stuff, too, Roberta.

Loved hearing the details, especially the gigantic surprise carrot! Very Happy

I can see why you make such an effort not to miss these sessions.

@msolga,
I make an effort to get to both therapists. The one preceding the art therapy is your plain old therapist. She's helped me a lot. Just not with pictures.

@Tai Chi,
I don't think it would come as a total surprise if someone got hit by a snowball thrown by a kid from the Bronx.

Sheila's husband and I once built a snow dinosaur. About seven feet tall. Lots of fun. Not up for such actitivies these days. I got winded wrapping one Christmas present. (No money for present purchasing. I'm giving Sheila something that used to be my mother's.) I took two breaks to get the present wrapped.

As Bette Davis once said, "Getting old ain't for sissies." I'm adding, "Being sick ain't for sissies either."

I'm looking forward to seeing the people and to spending a day having fun. And eating good food. And playing games. (A few years ago, I couldn't go--brain surgery. Sheila's daughter said, "Maybe now one of us will have a chance to win something." I told Sheila two days ago that if they wanna win, they gotta play something I'm not good at. Word games and poker ain't gonna work.)

@Butrflynet,
Another red x. Butrfly. I know you answered my java question. Thanks. I haven't had a chance to do anything yet. When I do, I'll let you know how it goes.

A splatty snowball. Why can't I see it. I love splatty snowballs. Phooey.

Nope. Just a message telling me the web page cannot be found.

Hey, you. Quit picking on my java. It had a fatal error. Don't you have any respect for the dead?

@Roberta,
Let me recommend you get some fresh java from a nearby neighborhood institution of M. Rohrs' House of Fine Teas and Coffee on 86th between 1st and 2nd Ave. Don't settle for Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks!

@tsarstepan,
OK. Hold on. Here it comes. I don't drink coffee. Every now and then I do. But mostly I don't like it much. Don't like tea either. Don't like alcohol. I drink milk and Pepsi. Also fruit juices (some).

I'll fix the java business. Not today. My brain is unfocused today. Instead I'll do some work. There's nothing like an unfocused proofreader. Except maybe an unfocused editor.
