@Izzie,
Glad you like the pic, Iz. Breathing about the same. Sometimes worse. Never better. Sigh.

@Roberta,
Just went over the last two pages. Glad your throat is alright, Roberta. Oh, and what a beautiful painting! It was interesting to read about your client in India.

@spidergal,
spidergal, I'm glad you like the painting.

A while back the people I work for in India visited New York and arranged to have lunch with me. Fine, kind, good people. They were especially patient with me when I was very sick. They try to accommodate me when I need more time. But they are inexperienced in publishing. I don't always get what I need. And the payment thing is driving me crazy.

I have a bunch of doctor appointments coming up.

First up--asthma doc. Still not better. I'm gonna kvetch. She'll be the first to report to me on my PET scan. She prescribed some nose drops for me. They make me choke.

Psychiatrist (not psychologist)--gonna mention that I need to have more tests. I think I'm getting stupider by the minute.

Then throat docs. Also interested in the PET scan. Always get nervous for this.

Next up--internist. I hope he has a hearty meal and goes to the bathroom before he sees me. I have a lot to discuss. My legs are worse. So bad that I can barely get up out of a chair. There has to be some physical reason for this. Also can't stay awake. Also have a thing on my face that hurts when I touch it and won't go away. Plus my usual stuff.

First visit with the hospital eye doc is scheduled. My eyes are failing. Blurred vision. May need new glasses. May have a cataract. May have glaucoma.

Somewhere in here I have to fit in a return trip to the dentist. And I have my regular visits with the therapists.

Not health but well-being related--I must head to the jewelry exchange to try to sell some stuff so I can pay the rent and other bills. Makes me nauseous. Oh, I guess it is health-related.

I'll keep you guys posted.

That doesn't sound good. BBB had similar problems during the worst of her ails last year. I bought a piece of foam and covered it in some fabric complimentary to her recliner. It not only raised her up high enough to make it easier to get out, it also cushioned her butt better and eliminated the bedsores that were starting to appear.

If you'd like one, I'd be glad to make it and send it to you. All I need are the measurements of the seat space and a mailing address. No charge.

Also, what dress/pant size are you now? Both you and BBB have been losing a lot of weight. We've been emptying out BBB's closet of the clothes that are too big for her now. I'm wondering if any would fit you. She's got good taste in clothes. Better they go to you than the Goodwill.

littlek, I've been oying all over the place. Thanks for chiming in.

osso, We've been through the "I'm getting stupider" before. I know how I perceive things. I know how my mind used to work. I concede that my failing memory could easily be an age thing. But something else is going on.

butrfly, Muchas gracias for the offer of the foam thing. I do a lot of sitting at my computer. A foam thing wouldn't work. It would make me too high. On the other hand, I can always use clothes. Problem: Yes, I lost a lot of weight. But I gained some back when I was taking the steroids. I have no idea what size I am. Maybe a large or an extra large. If you still wanna send me stuff, please let me know. I'll send you a pm with my full name and address.

PS re my first kvetch above: The Indian company sent the check, and it was returned to them as undeliverable. Thudworthy. Why? Who the hell knows? They're gonna send it again. Sigh.

@Roberta,
Roberta, attached is the QVC size charts. Measure your chest, waist and hips to determine your size. I have a huge number of good clothes in 1-x (similar to size 20) and some with x-large (size 18). Pants, tops, dresses, robes, pajamas, etc. I also have several washable suede jackets. I have 3 wool beautiful designer coats. Both in 1-x size that you would love. Let us know what you can use.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
BBB, I just measured. It appears that I gained weight mostly below the waist.

I'm a 1-x above the waist and a 2-x below. Sigh.

One-piece things won't fit unless I cut myself in half or lose weight (I'm trying).

@Roberta,
The coats, jackets, tops, sweaters, robes, pajamas, and some dresses would fit you.

Too bad you can't drive to Albuquerque and drive back with your car filled with clothes.

The 1/x pants would give you a reason to loose another ten pounds so you can get into them.

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
BBB, I don't know how to drive (a true city kid), so a car full of anything wouldn't do my any good.

I'm sending you a pm with my info. Send whatever you want; or send nothing. I'm grateful either way.

Thanks.

Back from Bellevue. Saw the asthma doc. My breathing tests proved what we both know. My breathing ain't that good. The PET scan was clear in the area she was concerned about. Be she gave me a list of things to ask the ENT doc to look for when they put the viewer down my throat.

She's concerned that I'm aspirating stuff into my lungs. Gotta have a test and see a specialist.

Then I went to the jewelry exchange. Sigh. Found out that poils ain't worth the string they're strung on. What happened? The market was flooded. I was counting on those poils to help me make the rent. The other stuff I brought wasn't enough to get to the rent. I'm thinking about what to do. I probably should have gone back and sold the other stuff, but I was too tired. Couldn't walk another step.

The buyer, a nice man, was concerned that I was wandering around alone. So was I. It was one of the reasons I kept putting it off. A victim if there ever was one. Old hobbler inching along. People on the street kept calling out to me that they buy gold. This tells me that I didn't look like a customer. Phooey. I'll be back at Bellevue next week, I think. I'll probably go back then. In the meantime, I'll look through my stash of nonpoils and see what I can come up with.

@dlowan,
The one from India? Next week. Not enough. But I'm thinking that two not enoughs would equal one enough.

Cogitating--and trying not to be nauseous.

@Roberta,
Well, here's a bit of bright news for you, I hope.

We have a huge box packed full of clothes and I'll be driving it up to the UPS store tomorrow to send it off to you.

My only concern is that either the UPS driver or someone in your building will be able to get the box up to you.

One other question, do you have any aversion to clothes made from wool? Some folks do, so I thought I'd ask since there are several wool pants and wool sweaters in the box.

@Butrflynet,
No aversion to wool. The UPS driver will drop off the box with the doorman. The doorman will put the box on the elevator. I'll have my wheels and roll the box from the elevator to my apartment. Does this address your concern? Or are you worried that the box won't fit in the door? If it's that big, send a smaller box.

Looking forward to the new duds. Major, big time.

Thanks a million.
