Surgery--Again

I DID IT! I wrote the checks and paid the bills. Remembered to put stamps on the envelopes.

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see. My last attempt at reading was a blur. This time I could see, but my hand shook. If this doesn't go away, I may need physical therapy.

I was actually excited that I was getting this done. Then I said to myself, "Are you the same person who wrote several books and edited hundreds of them?" Answer to self. "Yes." Everything is relative.

Went to the fancy shmancy bakery. Got a little something for today and a bigger something for tomorrow. The guy behind the counter was thrilled to see me. (I reiterate, there's no accounting for taste.) He gave me some free cookies!!!

Went to the drugstore and got cough stuff and decongestant.

Dragged my sorry ass home. Yes, I remembered to drop the envelopes in the mailbox.

I also made two phone calls today.

I need a nap.

HOORAY!!!!

Bethie, The guy in the bakery knew it was my birthday. I told him. His wife and I are both scorpios.

I had to turn down a lovely dinner invitation from two wonderful people. Phooey. Have no stamina for dinner out. And I can't open my mouth, so getting food into it is a challenge and messy.

Just not ready yet for social activity. I got a raincheck.

I bought a chocolate truffle cake for tomorrow. I will but a candle in it and make a wish. Last year my birthday fell on the next to the last day of seven weeks of radiation. I couldn't eat. Now I can eat once I get food into my mouth.

I wrote a long response earlier, but I clicked on the wrong thing and lost it. This will be pithy.

I had an OK day yesterday. Heard from some friends. Got flowers and a balloon from Sheila. Ate the chocolate truffle cake, which was supoib.

Thanks to you guys here for helping me celebrate.

I'm going to the hospital tomorrow (Friday) to see the lawyer and my therapist.

I'm going to sleep early (by my standards) tonight.

Hospital, lawyer, therapist all in one place. Talk about one stop shopping.

Oh! So disappointed that your long response was lost, Roberta. Bugger those cyber gremlins!

I sleep a lot, but I don't sleep well. Sigh.

Gotta go to the supermarket today. I'm out of everything.

Growing increasingly concerned about not being able to work. No income. Oy. Might try a simple project, if they've got one. Don't feel ready, but I would like to give it a try anyway.

Still feeling fuzzy. No focus.

Thinking about making a little teeny toikey for Thanksgiving, which is my favorite holiday.

If you were able to work, I believe it would be better than medicine.
