@Tai Chi,
lol. i remember when I had my staples taken out (about 7 months ago) it's nothing really, I had 32 staples and the doc took them out in the office. You don't need anything for pain.

What the hell's WITH that?

How do they get them out without hurting you?

I'm very worried about tomorrow's doctor visit. I'm afraid they might readmit me. In addition to the pulling and staple discomfort, I've been having asthma problems, throat problems, jaw problems, and fuzziness problems.

If they stick me back in the hospital, I'll tell Sheila, and she'll let you know.

I agree that surgery on Oct 21 to seeing a doctor on Nov 10 is far too long. I feel medically abandoned.

@Roberta,
Oh Roberta.

I hope that isn't necessary!

(Though, if it really is necessary) I hope they do do it! Right away!

If that makes sense.

Sigh.

@Roberta,
Well, if you NEED admitting, you need it.

The fuzziness I think you to be entitled to. Will you need the anti-fitting drugs for a long time? I do wonder if they have something to do with the fuzziness.

It's awful to feel medically abandoned.

I'm wondering if you're online, Roberta?
If so, how are you feeling now? Any better?
(I'm worried about you)

@msolga,
It's 8:03 AM Noo Yawk, time, msolga -- very early for Roberta.

Also hoping all is well, though... and that the doctor visit today goes well.

@Roberta,
Miss Roberta, hope you're having a good sleep til it's time to go to the doctor.

Staples begone!

We'll be thinking about you later today. Hope to see a post from you when we get home tonight.

Home!!

The doctor says I'm healing well. The staples are out. Some hurt a little, and some hurt a lot.

She suggested I talk to my asthma doctor if things don't improve.

As long as I was sure that the headache I had on Sunday was a sinus headache (I'm pretty sure), it's not a concern.

I'm going to get an EEG to see if I'm having seizures. If no seizures, I can discontinue the meds.

Gonna eat and take a nap.

There are four maple trees (I think; I don't know much about trees) at Bellevue whose leaves are fire red. Gorgeous. I also saw two teeny weeny sparrows. I usually see herds of pigeons, but not today.

thought of you this morning while i was out walking, i was in the city and when i came around the corner of a building i saw a huge black squirrel climbing the wall of an apartment building, he stopped when he saw me and we were eye level for about 2 minutes until he decided that it was cool to continue up the wall, he limed up and over to the first balcony, had a look and continued to the next, must have seen something good, because he climbed onto the balcony and out of sight

while we were staring at each other i thought, roberta's gonna kill me for not having my camera

dj, You're in luck. Too weak to kill anyone, especially someone I like. But I do love dem black squirrels. Most of the squirrels in Noo Yawk are gray, but there are some black ones in the Bronx Zoo area. They are wonderful. Next time, don't go out without a camera. I may have to muster up the strength to do some physical damage. BTW, the doctor gave me some strenth tests--pull, push, etc. I nearly knocked her off her feet. "Oh, you're strong," she said. Just keep that in mind.

Deb, The fuzziness is probably a combination of things. My feeling is that it's the antiseizure meds. But it might also be the simple result of having my brain invaded. I'll have the eeg and find out if I'm having seizures. If I'm not, I'll be able to stop taking the meds and see what happens.

That's good, Roberta. I was thinking this might not be the case following your previous post. You sounded quite unwell. I'm hoping that you're feeling much improved by the time you read this.

I'm so happy those damn staples are out! (Despite the pain of removing some of them) This has gotta perk you up! Very Happy

BTW, did you give the doctor a bit of a serve? The hospital's follow-up "after care" was not exactly wonderful! Evil or Very Mad

So, when do you see the asthma doctor? Soon, I hope. Those headaches sound terrible. Sooner they vanish the better!

You are strong, Roberta.
And not just physically!

I don't have an appointment with the asthma doctor, olga. That would take care of my asthma, not the headaches.

I was too zonked today to take care of anything. I have to make the appointment for the eeg, my throat doctors, my internist, and my asthma doctor. So fuzzy, I'm not sure I can dial the phone right.

The first words out of my mouth were about feeling medically abandoned. Harumph. The doctor game me her card. Possibly a first. I'm usually not confrontational, but I can be mighty snarly when the circumstances are right. I've also heard that I can be just a tad intimidating. Who, moi? Shocked

@Roberta,
Sorry, I misread your earlier post, Roberta, somehow leading me to think that asthma was the source of much of your discomfort.
Right, OK, got it now.

Golly. That's a lot of appointments! Surprised

Good for you!
Nah, not intimidating, assertive! And it sure sounds like you've gotta be in such circumstances! Well done! Smile

I really hope you're feeling less fuzzy/woozy tomorrow, Roberta. Sounds extremely debilitating, you poor thing.
