Bethie, Thanks for the link. I can't get there from here now. When I can walk more than a block, I'll check it out. I gotta get brownie info from Canada? You're too much.

@Roberta,

One last food splurge (I know I keep saying that). I bought a steak. Not sure if I can eat it. But the bloodiness of it appeals. I haven't had anything red and juicy in a long time. I'm an omnivore. Meat and veggies. Just writing about it makes me hungry. I'll take little bites.

So what's the verdict, Roberta?
How was that steak?

(Good morning!)

... So how are you today, Roberta? Has the swelling gone down a bit? Less pain today? (I hope so!)

(ci, that's great news! )

I'm smiling big time. My Yankees won. My spots are sparkling. I actually cried I was so happy. Amazing what sports can do for you. There will be a parade on Friday.

@Roberta,
My first thought upon seeing (this a.m.) that the Yankees won -- "Yay, Roberta will be happy!"

The last out of the game--I smiled so big that it hurt. Didn't care. Watched the postgame activities.

Had the second cupcake with milk. I think there was booze in that cupcake. Maybe rum? Got a little tipsy.

Yes, Thomas. Things are back in order. It was a long time between championships. Patience is not one of my virtues.

The two best teams in baseball playing on cold autumn nights. Both teams were good. It could have gone either way. Stunned at the mvp selection. A DH. Granted Matsui hit six RBIs in the last game (an amazing feat), but he didn't play in every game. I thought Rivera shoulda won the MVP. What do I know. An old bat sitting on a couch in Manhattan watching boychiks playing a game. I was very conscious of the fact that they were in the Bronx. I got Bronx in my blood. Could almost breathe Bronx.

Very Happy This is wonderful, Roberta! I'm so pleased for you!

Hooray! Go Yankees!

Smiling right along with you.

Will you be able to watch the parade on television? (It'd be terrific is you could actually be there, but let's be realistic here ...... )

And this is even better news! And I'm hoping there is even less pain now.

olga, I wouldn't go to a parade even if I felt fine. This one is way downtown. If I can, I'll watch on tv. I have to see my therapist tomorrow. Hope I can catch some of the celebration. And I hope traffic isn't too bad.

I've never been in much pain. Not much different from anything. Just uncomfortable, swollen, and feeling weird. Greatly looking forward to having the staples removed. So much pulling. Glad I haven't passed any large magnets. I think I'd stick.

I'm gonna finish off Howie's cupcakes tonight. I'm eying this last one suspiciously. It looks like it's got berries on top. I'm not a berry fan. I'll report.

Talked to Sheila today. She helped me with a prescription problem. Told her that I love her and every member of her family. I think they love me back. Her daughter thinks I'm a hoot. Her son is in Malaysia. He says hi to me. Hi back to Malaysia.

@Roberta,
Hope the cupcake is good.

The cupcake here (I think we really call them patty cakes? The US "cupcakes" appears to have taken over, though) is experiencing a major renaissance, and is becoming a feature item that often goes way over the top.

Oddly, I was trying to get some delivered to work today.

It was my turn to provide morning tea for the Friday am meetings...but I am ill, and I was ringing around trying to get something delivered.

There was a cupcake specialist place that looked promising....but it was too late.

So I trudged off top buy morning tea and went to work.

Hope the damn staples are out soon.

Hope the head starts to feel like normal.

The three cupcakes Howie brought me were in fact small, single-portion cakes. The last one was a blueberry cheesecake. Very, very, very rich. Delish, but I couldn't finish it. A rare thing, indeed.

I have a busy day lined up for Friday. Tired just thinking about it. I see my therapist. Three issues with prescriptions. Probably gonna miss the parade. I'll watch highlights.

At 2:30 this morning, I made tomato sauce so I could have my chicken partmagiana tomorrow (later today). Smells good. That chicken is gonna get some serious pounding.

Wondering how different I'll feel once the staples come out (Tuesday). Told my Thursday doorman today that if some doctor wants to drill a hole in his head, tell the doctor to go to hell. Feh on this whole thing. Tired of being tired.

Thanks for sticking with me, youse guys.

Roberta,

Andy and I are so pleased that you are doing well.

Anytime you want to head over to the Big Island we have a bedroom for you and a backyard full of flora and fauna. We have a family of asian pheasants that have adopted us, incredible birds (there is a bird sanctuary near by) chickens, doves, turkeys, wild pigs, feral cats, on and on.

Be well.

Trying to imagine the size of the staples, Roberta. Similar size to "normal", everyday staples? Whatever the size, they'd feel uncomfortable. I'm thinking you'll perk up (quite a bit!) once they're gone. Not long to go now ...

Exhausted. My first official outing--to Bellevue.

First stop, asthma doc, to pick up free samples of asthma meds. 1 1/2 blocks.

Second stop, Bellevue. The cashier was thrilled to see me. She was praying for me. My therapist got an earful. You think I kvetch here? Hah! There's kvetching and then there's KVETCHING.

Third stop, Bellevue Pharmacy. 7 miles.

Fourth stop, neighborhood drugstore. I usually get prescriptions delivered, but I was told that my debit card expired, so they couldn't make the delivery. When I got there, I was told that the scrip had been delivered. 2 blocks (for nothing).

Gonna eat. Gonna take a nap. I think I missed the whole parade. Phooey.

Can't find my watch. It's gotta be here somewhere. Second phooey.

Go, Roberta!

Carry on kvetching!

Where kvetching is deserved, the receiver should get an earful! Quite right!

I'd be very worried if you weren't ...

(I think your watch might be located in the scarf draw of your dresser, right hand side, toward the font of the draw, under the blue scarf with the swirly patterns.... I hope this helps! Very Happy Wink )
