@littlek,
Time to show a palio contrada scarf - in this case the scarf represents the Goose neighborhood (contrada) of Siena. There are seventeen contrade - I have about seven of the scarves..

That's a photo on the slowtalk.com site.

Here's the list of contrade from Wikipedia..
(I tried to find a photo of the tortoise scarf for Roberta, but no luck so far.)

"The seventeen Contrades are: Aquila (Eagle), Bruco (Caterpillar), Chiocciola (Snail), Civetta (Little Owl), Drago (Dragon), Giraffa (Giraffe), Istrice (Crested porcupine), Leocorno (Unicorn), Lupa (Female Wolf), Nicchio (Seashell), Oca (Goose), Onda (Wave), Pantera (Black Panther), Selva (Forest), Tartuca (Tortoise), Torre (Tower) and Valdimontone (literally, "Valley of the Ram" - often shortened to Montone)."

Sheila again--checking in. I visited Roberta in the ICU tonight. I gave her all the messages that came in last night right after I posted. She was telling me about all of you. What a great bunch of friends you are. Roberta is sitting up, she's been out of bed already, asked me to turn on a fav TV show. (All good signs.) She says "hi" to all of you. Also said I'm a "good kid." More tomorrow . . .

@Roberta,
Roberta's right, Sheila. You are a good kid! Very Happy
Thank you so much for these "Roberta reports" & also for passing on our messages to her.
Me, I'm utterly amazed! Nine hours of surgery yesterday & today she's already been out of bed, is sitting up in bed & chatting to you & wanting to watch television! Is she super resilient, or what!? Incredible. Watta goil! Surprised
Please pass on my hope that she continues to recover at this astonishing rate, & also my love, too!

@Roberta,
Oh Shelia - FANTASTIC NEWS..

thanku so much "kid" - you are a goodun. So pleased that you're able to visit Boida - and to know she is sitting up and even asked for some "white noise" - well, that's just fabulous.

Really, this is the best news we could have hoped to hear. Now, hoping and wishing the news from the docs will be equally as good and she is de-lumped with no bad side effects.

Gosh... she didn't send us a "kvetch".... oh my! Razz I may be in withdrawal already! Very Happy

ah.... that's made my day already - such great news to start the day with.

Thanku.
