The all-Oreo diet! I definitely sense marketing potential.

I am eating a few things besides Oreos, but if Nabisco is interested, I'll cut out the protein, vitamins, and minerals. Who needs that stuff anyway?

Hate to break it to you, Izzie, but I'm not much of a tea drinker, even when I can tolerate sweetener. I've tried many kinds. It just doesn't appeal to me. If it makes you feel better, I'm not much of a coffee drinker either.

Popping out of my little fortress here to say "Hi Boidy" and to give you a big hug.

In that list of mouth moisteners that EhBeth provided, the list of ingredients of most listed artifitial sweeterers like sorbitol and aspartame. Have you tried the sugar free chewing gums? Or mabe you could try putting a packet of Equal in your tea? I think that contains either sorbitol or aspartame.

We miss you terribly. When you feel up to being teased by Bob, let me know. He'll be sure to let you know how much he doesn't like you. Then I'll get on and we can just talk.

Artificial sweeteners make me choke. I've tried two different kinds of sugar free gum. One piece I managed to chew for about a minute. Then I choked. The other, I didn't get to a minute. Choked.

I can take teasing any time. Dys doesn't scare me.

You can talk; I can whisper. Just keep in mind that a lot of people can't hear me on the phone.

Well you could do worse than eat Oreos. Have you tried all sweeteners? Splenda for instance? I tolerate it far better than any other. Or have you tried honey?

When I was pregnant with my second child, I experienced what was laughingly called 'morning sickness' for several months--I say laughingly because it could hit me at any time of day. The one thing that I could consistently tolerate and keep down was popcorn. I'm sure Jolly Time's stock went up significantly during those months.

I wonder why you can tolerate the sugar in Oreos but not in tea? But anyway I've some great tea blends here and hope you will be able to enjoy that again soon.

Foxfyre, I've tried a variety of sweeteners. They all make me choke.

Don't worry that I can't have tea. As I mentioned to Izzie, I don't feel like I'm missing much. I'm not a tea fan.

From my perspective, this seems like the perfect time for Dys to give Roberta some abuse. After all she can't talk back. He'll never have it so easy again!

Let him give it his best shot.

I can manage the milk. But I tried dunking. Not what it should be. I'll stick with taking the cookies apart, licking out the middle, and eating the baked bits--at least for now.

I miss dunking. I don't know why it doesn't work anymore. Sigh.

@Izzie,
Ate a pickle (half sour). No ill effects, AND it tasted like a pickle.

Had a PETscan. Will get the results next week.

We have something that is the equivalent of false vocal cords. They're above the larynx. Mine have kicked in. This is NOT a good thing. Gravelly and gurgly sounds emerge. NOT good, but sounds.

Udderwise, nada.

Thanks for asking.

osso, Maybe a semi-oy veh.

Izzie, A little more green--for the pickle. I like that.

deb, Yeah, I liked eating the pickle. Pickles and Oreos. Could be worse. I agree with the bugger half of your message.

You noticed that too, did you, Roger?

Just back from Bellevue--my monthly check-up.

Things still look swollen but seem ok. Met with a new radiation oncology person. He told me my voice might stay this way. Oy.

Got the results of the PET scan:

tumor in head--check
emphysema--check
swelling and other ooky stuff in throat--check
adrenal adenoma--!!!??? A what!!!???

The doctor referred to it as an incidental finding. Not to worry. Right. Like the wart in my throat was nothing to worry about. I have to make an appointment with general surgery to get it checked out.

Looked it up online. Maybe I don't have to worry. Maybe I do. I will anyway.

Shee--it.

@Roberta,
Pickles and oreos. Sounds like a pregnancy problem. See? It really COULD be worse. Smile

I'm guessing your voice won't stay that way.

I'm guessing when your doctor tells you not to worry, you probably don't need to worry.

I'm guessing you'll worry anyway.

And I'm guessing those who care will still watch and wait with you here.
