The Packers needed Favre to win; it's a no-brainer that Dallas won this one!

So, in order to follow this, I have to start following pro football, in an area of the country that is college football crazy. Hmmmmm.....do I want to do this, do I care any way or another?

Sumac - you don't have to do anything. The invitation was to pick the winner of last night's game.

Thanks to rjb and osso for getting out their whips and pulling the leader board together.

I was fortunate enough yesterday to get an IRL hug from rjb. It was great seeing him again.

I'm hanging out in DC this weekend among some crazy Redskin fans. Missed the game last night -- too busy yakking. I'm 1-0 so far, could be a good week

If you would like to play in the last few weeks of the season, sumac, here are the rules. Each Tuesday there will be a listing of the week's games. It might look like this:
Green Bay at Dallas
Atlanta at St Louis etc

Prior to the kick-off of the 1st game, you post your picks here by saying
"I go for Dallas,
Atlanta..." etc

Pretty painless and no knowledge of NFL is required. One player took the names of the quarterbacks, fed them into a computer anagram program, and selected winners based on the more amusing result. She probably did as well as most of the rest of us.

I hope you will decide to participate. -johnboy-

I'm in. Either I will start to pay more attention to NFL stuff and statistics, or I won't. In any event, I will put my bet in, with logic, rationality, or fantasy to back it up.

Cool, sumac! Here are the games you need to guess:

Thursday, Nov. 29
Green Bay (10-1) at Dallas (10-1) Too late for that one.

Sunday, Dec. 2
Atlanta (3-8) at St. Louis (5-6)
Buffalo (5-6) at Washington (5-6)
Detroit (6-5) at Minnesota (5-6)
Houston (5-6) at Tennessee (6-5)
Jacksonville (8-3) at Indianapolis (9-2)
N.Y. Jets (2-9) at Miami (0-11)
San Diego (6-5) at Kansas City (4-7)
Seattle (7-4) at Philadelphia (5-6)
San Francisco (3-8) at Carolina (4-7)
Cleveland (7-4) at Arizona (5-6)
Denver (5-6) at Oakland (3-8)
N.Y. Giants (7-4) at Chicago (5-6)
Tampa Bay (7-4) at New Orleans (5-6)
Cincinnati (4-7) at Pittsburgh (8-3)

Monday, Dec. 3
New England (11-0) at Baltimore (4-7) In this game, you must not only guess the winner but the TOTAL number of points that will be scored. JPB uses that as a tiebreaker.

EVERYONE SAY WELCOME TO SUMAC, DAMN IT, OR MY FRIEND VINNY...

OK. Based on whimsy, mental coin toss, home field advantage, need for revenge and/or redemption, some logic (but not much):

St. Louis
Buffalo
Minnesota
Tennessee
Indianapolis
Miami
Kansas City
Seattle
Sanfrancisco
Arizona
Denver
NY Giants
New Orleans
Pittsburgh

Of course, New England. Total game points = 45.
