If you say so, Rex - it must be true.

However, the only proof you have is your own inclination

The only proof I have is the written word. If God speaks to us thought the spirit then what is the purpose of the written word? What of when the heart contradicts the word is not the word written in the heart more sure? Shall one rip out their heart and have someone else read the words of God to verify their surety? Doesn't that leave the truth to be a bit subjective and selective? And what parts of the new testament did the orthodoxy write and attach the names of the apostles to? Shall we trust that document over what is in the heart? Is God saying we can trust our feelings?

err...

2 Peter 1:19 KJV We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed , as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn , and the day star arise in your hearts:

These need to be incorporated into your heart:

(1 Corinthians 6:9-11) . . .What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of YOU were. . . (Emphasis mine)

(1 Timothy 1:8-10) . . .Now we know that the Law is fine provided one handles it lawfully 9 in the knowledge of this fact, that law is promulgated, not for a righteous man, but for persons lawless and unruly, ungodly and sinners, lacking loving-kindness, and profane, murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, manslayers, 10 fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching . . .

And Neo lets not forget this one...

Galatians 2:16 KJV Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified .

Comment: How about you follow your scriptures of damnation, hellfire and condemnation and I will follow my scriptures of love, compassion and faith.

You are referring to Mosaic Law.

Christians are under a more forgiving law.

But lying, stealing, murder, and fornication are still wrong.

And eating ham... The sexual revolution was exactly that. Yes there is a line where freedom becomes a sin. I don't think that line should be drawn by repressed ideologues between consenting adults...

Sexual freedom between consenting adults is life's only charm.

Try it before you knock it... Smile

That is exteremely shallow, Rex; and I don't believe it.

One man's truth is another man's lie... What makes you so sure your own truth is not a lie? Because you read it in the bible and in spite of the many contradictions you decided to pick a certain phrase and call it truth above any other considerations? We see homosexuality all though nature and you say it is not natural? Who is believing a lie?

So you don't believe that all scripture is inspired by God? (2 timothy 3:16)

I'm not hung up on your perceived contradictions. All may be explained

We come into this world naked and for the remainder of our life we attempt to explain.
