The gauntlet has been thrown, or has it? *rolls eyes*

Just in case something is done about it, here's a thread starter.

'WASHINGTON — President Obama said on Thursday that the United States would retaliate for Russia’s efforts to influence the presidential election, asserting that “we need to take action,” and “we will.”

The comments, in an interview with NPR, indicate that Mr. Obama, in his remaining weeks in office, will pursue either economic sanctions against Russia or perhaps some kind of response in cyberspace.'

@Brand X,
hes gonna sign Putin up for Pinterest "Pins" and these will be loading up in Putin's mailbox . Putin will start making all kinds of projects using left over pallets on which their RPG's are shipped. He will be so taken up with making all kinds of wood crafts that he will lose focus and Trump will be able to keep up.

@Brand X,
Ever wonder why ALL these systems are able to be "hacked" in the first place? Anybody questioning who this happens?

But execty WHAT and HOW will we retaliate?

Best they find out how to stop the hacking in the first place.

I find it funny that people who think Ronald Reagan was the best president ever are now defending a Russian cyber-attack on the US.

Trump sure has a hold over conservatives.

The whole thing is Hillary's fault as she has admitted. Karma for comments she made about Russian elections in 2011. Thing is, the nation has to suffer the consequences of her actions, her losing the election was going to happen anyway. Conversely Trump has made no statements to rile up Russia, even through his unpopular stance and the fact that it might be purely out of dumb luck. Another Hillary screw up from her tenure. Clinton legacy, it's real.

@Brand X,
Whose side are you on Brand X?

Reagan stood up to Russia. Trump wants to get into bed with Putin.

(Trump is having a strange effect on me. I never missed Reagan before.)

@maxdancona,
Is standing up to Russia meddling in their elections?

I'm for America.

@Brand X,
Standing up to Russia means not letting them to get away with meddling in our elections.

If you are for America, you would be upset with the idea of Russia meddling in our elections. If you are defending Russia after they used a cyber-attack to meddle with our election, then you aren't acting as if you are for America.

Putin is not American, and often acts against the interests of America in areas like Syria, NATO and the Ukraine.

@maxdancona,
Is standing up to America Russia meddling in our elections?

Yes, I don't like it but it was instigated by our Secretary of State, I don't like that either, do you?

@Brand X,
It is a ridiculous tactic to blame Hillary Clinton's words and/actions as Secretary of State for the actions of Putin and the Russian attacks on our cybersecurity. It makes about as sense to blame US actions for attack against us by Al-Qaeda on 9/11. Osama Bin Laden had a list of grievances as well.

@Brand X,
Hillary is an American. The fact that she is on the other side politically doesn't change the fact that she is one of us. Putin is a Russian oligarch. He rules a nation that often acts against American interests.

You are choosing the Russian Oligarch over the American. Any moral claim you had to patriotism is gone.

(America First my ass!)

@maxdancona,
I am not choosing Putin's side.

You want to put me in that position because it's easier for you.

@revelette1,
That's an excellent point.

if Ms. Clinton's to blame for Russia's behaviour, then surely people must accept than America was also fully to blame for 9/11.

Gotta stay consistent with that stuff.
