Edit [Moderator]: Moved from General to Relationships & Marriage.

Make me a match. (with apologies to Joseph Stein of Fiddler on the Roof)

Have you ever been a match maker in real life or on A2K?

I have, and it has always, and I mean ALWAYS been a disaster.

I put two folks together once, who promptly got married and stayed married for three months. Rolling Eyes

And you?

Two friends who met through my aegis (though I wasn't setting them up) are about to celebrate their 25th anniversary...

BBB
Well, there's Dyslexia and Diane who met face to face for the first time at the Albuqerque gathering in April 2003. Now they've moved to Albuquerque. Asherman and BBB didn't play match maker, we just created the opportunity.

Well, D'art, then you provided the ambiance. (hate that word).

Ah, BBB. Admit it, now. You and Asherman were in collusion. Razz

I matched 3 people up who have sense tied the knot. I love playing matchmaker WHEN I know them.

I met my FI on match.com

No shame. Smile

Turns out he lived a few doors down from MY PARENTS. How odd/coincidental was that.

Joah, nor should you feel any shame. I'm beginning to believe that I'm in the minority, here.

Damn, I'm more of a matchbreaker. People come to me with their worries, I sometimes confirm them, and voila, they're through. The couples that I have put together have stayed together for some time though. Two of my best friends from University got married before they were twenty; I did the work for them.... now they've spent their youth together happily.

OK. Let's do a little intellectual match-making here on A2K.

In running through the various responses and categories here, I feel that realjohnboy and nimh seem to have a meeting of the minds.

Gus and anybody. Razz

JLNobody and Sophia.

Ossobuco and the entire art community.

Then there is the hippie folks:

dyslexia and Col man.

Hey, fortune. It's your turn, and it doesn't have to be an AHssie, either.

Well, fortune. They tell me that red heads have quick tempers, so why not you and McGentrix. Laughing

They'd make a cute couple!

(And thank you for such a nice description, my friend.)

Apart from the obvious pairing of you and Occom, I will thinking you and Ceili, for some reason.

KC, you are so multi-faceted, that you could probably take on the whole of A2K. Hmmmm. I think you and fortune might get along splendidly, both intellectually and physically. You New Yorkers are soooooooo urbane.

And lets not forgot those who match up for good luck purposes.

Craven and Noddy come to mind.

drom, with your penchant for honesty, there are those who would seek you out, and those who would fear you.

My word. We must not forget Bi-Polar and Panzade: Battling bands with a bond.

Well, what d'ya say? Shall we ride off into the sunset together or would you rather a more traditional ceremony? Laughing

I'd love to hear Bi-Polar and Panzade have a real battle of the bands!
