Caramba! No, no, I meant to say Gorgonzola!!

Or else I'll have to go Feta, a bad idea at this time.

@ossobuco,
Do you know how to handle a dangerous cheese? Caerphilly

@vonny,
That could be addictive, both the sounds and the cheese..

@ossobuco,
Speaking of cheese, has anybody seen my 2 pound wedge of Kasseri?

@Sturgis,
The cow's milk or sheep's milk version of Kasseri?

@vonny,
Sheep. Oddly most sheep stuff is not stuff I care for. Can't stand even the smell of lamb cooking.

@Sturgis,
Um.. I've liked italian (you all know me, the only place I've been in Europe, where I got imprinted like a duck when I stepped off the Rome metro) sheep cheese, especially very fresh pecorino romano. Might have been pecorino toscano, but I dunno. It was in Tuscany and fresh.

@ossobuco,
Kasseri is a Greek and Turkish cheese. You really must try it if given the opportunity.

@Sturgis,
I have liked lamb, but it's so long ago I don't remember fully. Chez Helene's in Venice, California, a loved restaurant by many with some fame of the bad sort, a murder on that street, not their fault. Also down the street from us at the time. When, I'll guess late seventies. Small place, good. Incredible roast chicken but also incredible roast lamb, with which you got the best corn pudding I've ever tasted. The chicken didn't come with the corn pudding, so choosing was a problem.

On the other hand, I tend to like live lambs galumphing about.

@Sturgis,
Not all so long ago I lived in northern california, near the northern border, but had friends who lived in the more famed areas. I've long been a low money person but I've been able to visit some good shops. There was one cheese store in the napa sonoma area (I think it's one of the nationally good ones but don't remember the name this minute, and I know there are more interesting stores in a lot of places).
But I remember the plethora of cheeses I wanted to try.

@ossobuco,
We need a law passed to reduce the price of cheese and increase availability to all regions,

@vonny,
I bought one in Sainsury's today called 'Dorset Tickler'.

I shall have a Ploughman's Lunch tomorrow, and when he stops swearing at me I shall come home and try a bit of Tickler with Branston in a sandwich.

@Lordyaswas,
Dorset Ticker - that's a new one on me, I'll have to look out for it next time I'm in Sainsbury's.
