A study by the Guttmacher Institute of elective abortions in 60 countries has found that the greater the use of birth control, the lower the number of abortions.
World Contraception Day is a worldwide campaign aiming to raise awareness of contraception and the need to reduce the high levels of unplanned pregnancy and to improve the level of education regarding reproductive and sexual health. It takes place on 26 September each year.

Although very much pro-choice, I'm all for people using contraceptives more. We should teach people that unless you're in a committed relationship where you can afford and wish to bring up a child, you should be using at least one form of contraceptive.
