I was born in New Jersey before the years had numbers; so I've seen a lot. I remember the day Adolph Hitler committed suicide. I remember Bobby Thomson's home run at the end of the 1951 baseball season.

In the sixties, I graduated from college with a degree in psychology which I have put to good use in a sales career and in the working of crossword puzzles. I also won my share of weightlifting contests, even breaking a world record in practice, though I couldn't quite do it in a meet.

I've been happily married for 40 years and have four children, nine grandchildren, one great grandson, and as of Jan 28, 2016, one great granddaughter.

I feel established religion has oppressed mankind and obfuscated the word of God to the point where the majority of our human race faces grave peril. I believe it but I won't bulldoze you with it. You will have to decide for yourself.

BTW, I changed my avatar because folks keep calling me neo.

Why study the Bible?

Be aware, when you choose to worship your brain, it is a god with a mind of its own

Sciolism is ever intolerant, and theological hatred is generally to be measured by the mental incapacity of those who indulge in the luxury. But no amount of abuse can reduce the intrinsic value of facts. - Thomas Inman

“As every past generation has had to disenthrall itself from an inheritance of truisms and stereotypes, so in our own time we must move on from the reassuring repetition of stale phrases to a new, difficult, but essential confrontation with reality. For the great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie—deliberate, contrived, and dishonest—but the myth—persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic. Too often we hold fast to the cliches of our forebears. We subject all facts to a prefabricated set of interpretations. We enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought. Mythology distracts us everywhere—in government as in business, in politics as in economics, in foreign affairs as in domestic affairs - John F. Kennedy
