When we had the Rottweiler-Shepherd mix who was probably a small Doberman (a few years ago), we used to take him to play with other doggies. Most of them would play with him but the neighborhood bassett would mainly just stand and bark with this great basso profundo bark.

I think, if he could speak English, he'd've been saying something like, "Now, you kids settle down and get off my lawn or I'm gonna take that frisbee!"
