Talk her out of it? Repulsive? You guys are nuts. If they're done right, fake boobs are great.

I hate to see anybody resort to surgery to alter their body unnecessarily.
The question is, of course, what is meant by "unnecessarily".

How so?

The size, or knowing they aren't real, or how they feel?

Never felt one, are they supposed to feel different?

Years back, I knew someone who had to had a double mastectomy, so she had implants put in. She had a nice figure for she got them the same size as what she had.

Now, keep in mind this was in the 80's, and it did involve a mastectomy, but she said she couldn't feel her breasts anymore, and she had to massage them every day to keep them from hardening up.

That hardening was bad, as it would tear the implant away from the flesh internally. That was all I needed to hear.

I'm not sure at all I get this implant thing.

In general, I'd say I'm against men (or women) staring at my chest. I mean, obviously in the proper setting it's fine, but not in normal day to day encounters.
What's the deal with that?

BTW, for men who are gonna say "I'm so slick and suave, you don't know I'm looking".........yeah, right. Rolling Eyes

Wow. I just automatically assumed it was reduction surgery...

Back in the 80's, several models i worked with had implants. Their breasts didn't move. No matter how they posed, those boobs sat on their chests like basketballs. It was the most unnatural thing and I wouldn't shoot a model in lingerie if she had fake breasts.

I understand that implants look more natural these days but it's been a long time since I've seen a manufactured boob in person.

All too soon, her carefree days of being ignored by boob men will be just a mammary.

I'm sorry eoe, was I misunderstanding you? Embarrassed

re the basketballs...yeah, my friend with the double mastectomy said if they dug up her grave in a hundred years, they'd find two hard cantalopes sitting on top of her rib cage.

huh...makes you wonder what archeologist 10,000 years from now will think when they are on excavations.

"Larry! I got another female buried with those round religious objects on her chest! Must be another nun.

I understand that implants look more natural these days but it's been a long time since I've seen a manufactured boob in person.

This "woman" has had a very flat chest all her life.
When I say flat, I mean FLAT.
Not just small, f-l-a-t-.

She and i talked about it once.
There was never an increse in breast tissue for her aside from the nipple.
It made breastfeeding difficult as well, but she managed to do it.

i think a huge chunck of her self confidence will be brought out with these implants.
I really do.

but I am concerned as Im not so sure it will give her what she is looking for.
But I am not her.
I dont live in her shoes and I dont pretend to know what is best.

But i will say I am concerned.

She is being conservative... going only to a B cup.

Basicaly just enough so you can actually SEE breasts through her shirt.
Though, I think it will be odd for her and her 'dates' because of her age..
welll...... it is just going to be REALLY obvious.. and it might embarass her at times

but

(ooohhhh) I dont wanna go there..

A friend of mine's sister had this done. Of course, I thought she was nuts!

I can understand more in your friend's case, shewolf, as the woman I know who had it done was NOT flat to begin with. Maybe a B.
She just wanted honkers.

Hope all goes well for her and it gives her the lift she is looking for.

The friend's sister had no problems, and they seem to look alright. Never touched em. So don't know there.

Having a friend who listens when you are freaking over any possible problem after the surgery is good. Standard friend stuff which you have covered.

you realize of course that when you post as 'mushypancakes' on a boob thread, you're asking for it! Laughing

Half of California has implants, we practically swim in silicone, but
I could not imagine tempering with my body in this manner. Removing
something - yes, absolutely!!! Adding foreign objects - no way!!

Besides, don't implants have to be exchanged every 7 to 8 years?
Quite an expense for a few years of added selfconfidence. Wouldn't
a shrink be cheaper?

Sometimes women can take it too far...

I would probably mess around with that woman but I would be sure to wear a hard hat and safety goggles.

Plus steel-toed boots.

My mistake, shewolf, I posted the "before" photo by accident. Let me see if I can find a photo of her after the operation.
