J-B, Laughing , it doesn't matter. I chose a French name as my English name because I like the Chinese translation of this name. My second foreign language is French, but I find ce n'est pas facile.I also like " The Moon and Sixpence" very much. Thank you for your suggestion. I wish I could talk to my teacher about this, but I am afraid I can't.

blanche, you are quite reasonable comparing to the other two asking about this novel.
Actually, I'm taking part in a chinese-english translation contest, in which this excerption is given as the original text. It's such a torture to me...

what kind of chinese-english translation contest in which this excerption(the making of ashenden?) is given as the original text? sorry, but i couldn't understand you very well.
