@mismi,
I love it that he's poking fun with her, but doesn't go over the line. He really loves her.

I'll tell you what though, he would be a great con man. He can totally keep a straight face.

@tsarstepan,
Love the dog!

Here's another baby one....

At 5pm every day, on Radio 2, there is a programme called Drivetime, with the well known (UK) DJ Simon Mayo.

The show starts with his signature tune with a wordplay on the song that starts with "Day-O".....changing it to Mayo.

Watch the kids reaction as the news finishes and the Mayo song comes on...

@panzade,
I've seen this video before. I think it's beautiful.

I love at 3:30 when she momentarily becomes startled, then quickly recovers.

I think it's so sad that LSD, which had so much promise for particular uses, was relegated to being so misunderstood.

There's a documentary on Netflix about DMT. After watching it, just the show, I felt other worldly for the next couple of days. It gave me so much to think about.

@chai2,
I think it's beautiful too.
I took some tabs in my day so I can relate to what's happening to her.
I just don't think I'd be as relaxed as she is.

@panzade,
You know, I wondered about that, re how relaxed she is.

If I put a few things together, it makes sense (to me)

Even the title "housewife takes LSD". It's back in the 50's.

Who even uses the term "housewife" anymore? She appears to be the prototype of a 1950's housewife. Even her first sentence in the video was about her husband, not herself.
When asked how she felt she said, looking away "Well....I'm a little nervous....perhaps"

Not entirely because of the times, but she a pretty passive, compliant person.

I wonder how this experience changed her in years to come?

Interesting follow up.

Quote:
Part of the appeal of the video, of course, is seeing a stereotypical-looking 1950s-era prim young housewife talk like a stereotypical-sounding tripping hippie.

"She had no social cues. She didn't know you were 'supposed' to talk like that on LSD. What I found fascinating about it is the mystical religious experience that people have on psychedelic drugs is real in the sense that it's not learned," Lattin, who also wrote 'The Harvard Psychedelic Club,' tells ABC News.

"I would love to track her down," he says. "If she were still alive she would be in her 70s or 80s."

The strain of research Cohen and his colleagues did with psychedelics would be picked up in the subsequent generation by Timothy Leary, whose evangelizing would cost the drug some credibility in scientific circles, says Lattin.

"This shows that very early on in the 1950s, researchers were aware that there were possible beneficial uses, rather than military or more nefarious uses," he says.

Today, studies have been approved by the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Food and Drug Agency that explore the use of MDMA, more commonly known as ecstasy, to treat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder.

"You can really see the beginnings of that," says Lattin, "With this early research by Cohen."

@tsarstepan,
I have to admit, he was talking so fast I didn't get 95% of what he said (or understand what it was doing)

What exactly is this google street view video all about tsar?

@chai2,
It's about how the NYPL has created a digital feature overlaying old photographs of certain locations (in NYC?) and their newer images of the same area taken from Google Maps. You can see the changes over a period of time.

@chai2,
I find that on the rare occasions when I stimulate my claustrum, I always fall asleep afterwards.

Or have a craving for pasta.
