No medicine textbook says that.

Is there any report suggest that?

Sounds a bit bizarre.

Why was your urologist advising you about diabetes and cancer?
How is this study related to your urinary bladder, kidney or prostate?

Miller-
Thank you for your replies.

I don't know where the study is but he said either that it was Finnish or Swedish (he knew which -- I don't remember).

My urologist is treating me for benign prostate enlargement. I told him that I frequently get out of bed to urinate. He then asked me about my drinking habits. I then told him that I drink a lot of diet soda. Then he told me of the study.

The study as I understand it does not relate to the urinary bladder, kidney, or prostate. It relates to the pancreas. As I understand it, the diet soda injures the pancreas resulting in diabetes.

Quote:
Background: A history of diabetes mellitus and a diet high in glycemic load are both potential risk factors for pancreatic cancer. Sugar-sweetened soft drinks are a prevalent source of readily absorbable sugars and have been associated with an increased risk of obesity and diabetes. We investigated whether higher consumption of sugar-sweetened soft drinks increases the risk of pancreatic cancer.

Quote:
Conclusion: Although soft drink consumption did not influence pancreatic cancer risk among men, consumption of sugar-sweetened soft drinks may be associated with a modest but significant increase in risk among women who have an underlying degree of insulin resistance.

I found a large study which indicated that sugar sweetened soft drinks might predispose women to a higher risk of pancreatic cancer.

I really become annoyed when doctors cite a study, expect a patient to accept what he/she says "wholesale", and does not give the patient references to the study.
