The women were probably much further along than simply missing their first period. My boobs didn't get bigger until later - I had no idea that I was pregnant early on because I did not have symptons like larger boobs or morning sickness.
The first thing I noticed was sensitivity to smells.
My mother's bridge group in the 1930's could spot an early pregnancy by the number of trips the young, gravid-but-not-showing, mother-to-be made to powder her nose.

Now that I could see. That was actually what tipped me off. I started having to pee more right around the time I was scheduled for my period.
I really like bridge mix, and I don't even play bridge.
Could I be pregnant?

OMG.
You'd better get a test NOW. Did your boobs get bigger last night?

I dunno, let me take a look.....
OH NO!!!!
(faint)
No, it isn't that girl. We been broken up since Last August. It's the girl I'm with now. she told me today, that she still hasn't started. If she is, then she might be 2 months. She said she didn't start last month, either. She said her mom looked at her, and said "I think your pregnant".
...she didn't start last month either?
Isn't that, I don't know, kind of important information?
Why hasn't she taken the test yet?

2 months? 2 months= permanent PMS, somewhat bigger, definitely denser boobage, and in my experience; and a tiny layer of all-over-
baby fat. If she's a little girl, ALL of which should be noticeable by now. (And Soz is right; EPT would be over 99% accurate by now.)
She is going to get a test in 2 weeks when she gets paid. We will find out then, hopefully.
Andrew, I'm not sure how much you guys think the tests cost... they're really cheap.
You don't have
eight dollars? (Click on link to go to a Walgreen's page.)
Ya know andrew, I have to say both of you are totally unprepared for a baby...
Since last June 10 months ago, you've...
1. thought you got another girl pregnant
2. you were so in love with her and wanted to spend the rest of your life together.
3. she was pregnant
4. she broke up with you and found another guy (wasn't it your friend or something?)
5. you were devastated and practically on the verge of suicide.
6. you met a different girl, and now you were "happier than you'd ever been" you wanted to spend the rest of your life together.
Now apparantly you have broken up with her, and want to spend the rest of your life with this GF.
you know the advice given before, including how expense raising a child is.
How do you expect to raise a child if neither of you have $8.00 to scrape toghether?
Also, the way you keep changing your mind about who you want to spend eternity with....I think it would the cruelest thing to a small human to bring him/her into the world when you are not emotionally mature enough.

That's still cracking me up.
yeah, it is pretty funny....I've actually been setting my alarm for 4:15 and patroling my block. He may have been right, all the crackheads I've run into where all saying "Gosh it's late, it's almost 4:30! I should have been in bed a couple of hours ago"!
BTW, my point 3?
Meant to write, she "wasn't" pregnant.
OCCOM BILL wrote:(And Soz is right; EPT would be over 99% accurate by now.)
More than 99%. It would probably be turing positive before she pulled it out of her stream by now.

Ditto - or you can't borrow the $8. I can't believe that you want a baby this woman and wouldn't be out at the store immediately to see. When we thought - we got an ept at the first opportunity and it was difficult to wait the three minutes after peeing - forget about 2 weeks.
It also concerns me that if you can't afford an ept that you are planning on raising and supporting a baby - which is significantly more expensive than an ept.
