Chai, I'm talking about in early High School, when I was too naive to know if you showed interest in say, the jock, that he would be a complete dork, with no finesse and just wanted to relay his experiences in the locker room.

The one word I use to sum HS boys up would be--despite their occasional glimmer of kindness, would be Ruthless.

I'm not speaking about the awkward guys. Some were more emotionally developed because they couldn't compete athletically. I was friends with an arty guy because he was more sensitive and liked to talk.
