Yeah, Binky is sending thought-messages to cats worldwide... sit on your owner's head.... sit on your owner's head...

Maybe they're sending messages to their owners: open a can of tunafish... cook up some salmon...

Oh, BorisKitten loves flowers too! I have to watch him in case there's something bad for him. My African Violet (my only houseplant) has a few little round bite-marks out of the flowers... hope they're not poisonous!

both of mine love spider plants and a cordyline (like a small palm tree) and the poor plants get battered and chewed regularly, not to mention them both liking to sit in the big plant pot.

I've just put some pictures of Paddy playing with his ball on the Rosie and Paddy thread - he can keep himself amused for ages with this ball - he chases it, juggles it, tries to climb trees and posts with it, carries it up on the garden chairs to let it drop so he can chase it again .....

OMG, Paddy is growing up! I still remember your painting (drawing?) of him as a kitten... what a character! I never had a cat who would play so enthusiastically with a toy! It must be adorable. I feel like an Aunt, watching him grow up.

BorisKitten fetches his little mice... I think he taught me to throw mice rather than me teaching him to fetch them. He's actually better at retrieving than any dog I've ever had. He will NOT give up until he finds that mouse, even if it takes 10 minutes! He always brings it back and drops it on the floor in front of me, and gives me that look, the one that keeps me throwing mice for Hours....

Very Happy aaah! Timmy used to retrieve screwed up paper if you threw it but none of our other cats have - they think I should run back and forth for it! That's really intelligent Very Happy

Yes, Paddy is getting bigger now, a sort of teenager. He's still full of confidence - even getting chased up a tree by 2 big cats recently didn't dent his swaggering at all! Rosie is a real scaredy cat and rarely goes beyond the garden (small)

It's lovely reading about the personality of the various cats - it is like being an aunt! you're right Laughing

Hey - I posted my cats - now I can post a photie of the view from my living room - though the process of putting the photo on the web has dramatically reduced quality.

Anyhoo - here is me view. The centre of the city is behind those trees - but they block it out - I am actually on a very main road - on the edge of the parklands - within a mile of the city centre.

Just thought some of you might like a look.....we shall see if it comes out.

Took the cats up to my parents yesterday - both as good as gold in the car. This is part of the keeping them familiar with Hotel Parents for when we go on holiday and leave them there.

Rosie immediately bolted under the coffee table, where they'd made her a little nest and stayed there the whole afternoon, hissing if parents went near her - cream and salmon offerings in their hands Rolling Eyes She is the most stubborn little madame.

Paddy explored every inch of the room, sat looking out of the windows, hissed at a neighbourhood cat out of the window and then after a long exploration, settled down to sleep near Rosie, nowhere near as fazed.

I got a hiss from the little madame when it was time to bundle her into the carrier to go home.

All was forgiven once home though Very Happy

I felt sooo bad. Cinder got neutered yesterday. He is an indoor cat (but he is leash trained) and we have a small apartment... So when he would start spraying, it would make the place smell so we had to get him neutered.. He was limping around last night when we brought him home but he is already back to himself this morning....but he kept taking the collar off and the vet wants it on so he won't lick the insicion.... which he has been doing.... I just don't want him to get an infection!! He has gained about 3 pounds in the last 3 weeks... he is getting soo big..he is about 19 weeks and weighs 5.17 pounds.... I love him sooo much!!1

aah! it is a horrible thing to have to do but essential. I felt terrible when I had Rosie speyed - luckily Paddy had been neutered the day before we collected him so we didn't have to take him.

He'll recover very quickly. Paddy didn't have stitches they used superglue! no collar, no problems with licking and no stitches to remove.

Yes msolga when she's glowering at you from under the coffee table and hissing and hitting out with her paws (and claws) you do have to be brave! Evil or Very Mad

I'm glad to hear you're persevering with the travel training, Vivien - I wish I had. Life would be much easier if the Possum-cat didn't scream, claw, spit, etc., the minute he sees his cage, the car and anything that may possibly be related to what he considers to be torture.

my daughter's otherwise very gentle and scaredy cat claws them to bits when she has to go in her travel cage.

Rosie goes in with only a few very naughty words snarled at me, no claws, and isn't frightened in the car, it's still her territory. Paddy isn't worried either.

Rosie just hates new territory and gets frightened very easily - she doesn't go beyond our small garden most of the time and if you shut the door she wants to come in instantly - her escape route has to be there and she's in and out and in and out like a yoyo checking. She's also very very very stubborn! I'm sure she'd do a repeat performance of not eating (for over 2 days) if we leave her again Rolling Eyes

Paddy has a much bigger range and is extremely confident outside - well anywhere! I'm more used to scaredy cats and it constantly amazes me.

I think you have to start when they are kittens - but then they'll still make up their own minds what is acceptable and what isn't once they grow up. So Possum may still have felt the same even if you'd started when he was little Sad

As my parents played with Rosie for hours when she was little, fed her cream and expensive treats, and stayed when we went away last year, you'd think she'd love them to bits and feel happy there - but no, not my stubborn little madame.

I managed to get some pictures of Paddy playing up the crab apple tree this morning (evidence of SPRING with the nice new leaves Very Happy )

I've also tried to do a couple of close ups of his paws

close up of front paw with extra toe and dew claw showing

you can see the back paw in this one

front paw again

I think I feel he walks on tiptoes because the 'thumb' only just touches the ground with a space between it and his other toes so he looks as though he's tiptoeing Very Happy It's very useful for holding on to the thin branches when he's climbing.

Very nice pictures, Vivien. He is getting big and he is absolutely beautiful.

We just spent one week in Sweden. Luckily, the cats can stay home and our neighbour Susanne comes over to feed them, play with them and spoil them. We don't really play a lot with them. They have each other to play with! But Susanne said she came over and just wanted to sit and read to give them the feeling of every-day life. But no! Susanne had to play with them. She was not allowed to just sit there...

Hello, urs! Very Happy

Did they also persuade Susanne that they required more food than usual? Razz
Cats are very clever at manipulating innocent folk who feel sorry for them while their owners are away! Sneaky devils! Laughing

Laughing I can just imagine how they insisted on playing! Rosie, once she'd given up on the 2 day hunger strike, when we left her at my parents while we went on holiday, insisted on my father playing morning noon and night

- and is she grateful? no - she still refuses to have anything to do with them when I take her up to visit! still, it keeps her used to travelling in the car and familiar with them and the house. When we collected her he was worn out! but loved it.

I did the close ups of the toes for Roberta so she could see if they are like the gorgeous Mikey.

No news is good news about Flatty I hope msolga?
