I found the thread that I started about pets being a comfort in difficult times. It was written right after 9/11. I was blubbering all over the keyboard, not just because it brought back such painful memories but because so many of the beloved comforters are no longer with us.

I tried to copy and paste the thread. My computer froze. Will I try again? If I have time.

msolga - I found the origin of snagglepuss - it was apparently a Hanna Barbera cartoon character

I don't remember it but I just wondered with it being used across the world where it came from

Very Happy So there is an actual Snagglepuss! I had no idea, Vivien. Surprised This could explain why so many felines around the world are called that ... as a term of affection, in my case. Thank you for that!
My own spoiled Snagglepuss is fast asleep as I type. Very wet here (yay! The first really SERIOUS late winter/early spring rains we've experienced after years of drought) He figures his spot on the couch is the best place to be!
Yesterday, when he ventured out during a sunny break, I found him munching on a newly sprouting bunch of chives in my garden. Laughing And I love watching him do his ecstatic flip-flops on sunny mornings, on the back step. I can almost hear him thinking: "This is the life!"

So, perhaps

Oh! Snagglepuss said "exit stayayage rrrright!" then went left?

Sorry, so, perhaps if those who can't gain access for whatever reason could post links and those of us who can access could copy their threads for them?

No.

Life does not seem to have a purpose any more Sad

In hindu culture, cats are considered inauspicious. And hence we grew up with an intense dislike of cats. You will very rarely find a hindu who likes cats.

I love dogs, horses, lions and tigers and rabbits, and elephants and almost all animals, except cats !

tigers are basically cats....why don't you like them ..i mean whats not to like except the li'l surprizes they leave on your carpet when you don't change the litter??

Cattitude was one of my feline abuzz threads.

My mother's family hated and feared cats. This may be a cultural thing, similar to what people consider edible. To some folks, it's a slug; to others, lunch. I suppose the same could be said about cats, but I'm not going there. I'll never be that hungry.
