That looks exactly like my mother's cat Putt (was mine but had to leave him behind to go to college) except that Putt has a white chin too. Plus he is a total lard ball as well. I wonder if it's in the genes?

Kind of a sad/happy news moment. My mother's cat, Tippy-Toes (f.y.i. my mom has 8 cats) was hit by a car last night. She did survive, but she got banged up pretty bad. All the fur above her left eye is gone and she das abig swollen lump on her hip. The worst thing, though is that her jaw was broken completely in half. The vet was able to wire it together and said ahe ahould recover normally. So it could have been worse, she should be alright.

Oh, poor, poor Tippy-Toes! Sad
She's got a rather painful time ahead of her, poor thing! Very Happy
But it's great she survived, Aldistar. Very Happy

Yes, Putt also used to be sleek in his youth. We went on a 3 day weekend trip out of town and couldn't find a cat-sitter. At the time we had this big 30 gallon tub we kept the cat food in, so I came up with the idea of just leaving the lid off of the tub and leaving 3 or 4 water bowls around and they should be fine. Everyone else agreed and so I put Putt and Fuzzikins inside the tub so that they would know it was open. Fuzzikins sniffed the mountain of food and promptly jumped out, Putt sniffed around and began to nibble but jumped out as we were walking out the door. Well 3 days later we come walking back in the house and I see Putt slowly pouring himself over the side of the cat food tub to come greet us. I kid you not, that cat had tripled in size Shocked . I'm not exagerating at all. He LITERALLY tripled in size. From that day on he just got bigger and bigger. No diet worked and he wasn't unhealthy so we just said forget it and keep his bowl filled. Laughing

Ummm... I was going to try to post pictures of my kitties, but for the life of me I just can't figure out how Embarrassed . I know I'm supposed to put them in the gallery first but I didn't find any direrctions on how to actually get the image into the gallery. I'm sure it's simple and I'm just being a lame brain, but any help would be appreciated.

Anastasia - if you go to the gallery it's quite easy to upload photos from your computer.

File size limit is 150kb.

Click on "Gallery" near the top right hand corner of the page (does top right hand still work when we're from downunder!Wink )
There's a prompt to "upload pictures", so click on that. It'll take tou to another screen where you can select the album you want from a drop-down menu.

Select A2K members pets

Then there's a place to click "browse". do that, and that takes you to your computer - so go and pick on the picture you want to upload. (Remember 150kb - so check file size first)

Double click on that, and it should bring it up in the box - add any information you want, e.g., name, comments, then click "Upload picture".

A moderator has to approve the pics, so they won't appear immediately - but just wait a day or so and they'll be there!

Good luck!

Yes, Roberta, this shot (which I know you've seen before) caught him in a wistful. thoughtful frame of mind. Not really a normal condition for him. He's much quieter these days, with his many ailments. <sigh> but atill a fine figure of a tuxedo cat, I think. Very Happy

I logged in then went to the gallery but there was no prompt to upload pics any where on the page. The only thing there is the category columns (Home::Forum::Portal etc.) and then latest upload, favorite pics and such. Is it just my computer? ARGH! Let me see if the man can figure this out.

Everytime I leave the forum and go to another part of the site (ie the gallery) and then go back to the forum I have to re-log in. Is this a problem for anybody else? When I go to the gallery and try to log in at that page it kicks me back to the forum page.

OK - underneath the ":Home: Portal:" stuff, there is an ad - usually for Alexa toolbar.
Underneath that ad, but before the category lists, etc., there are a number of entries, clickable. One of them is "upload pictures".

You have to be logged on to upload pictures, so, if the site is dropping you out, that's another issue, and you should contact the help section.

See how you go. Wink

I've just noticed that colorbook's Sparky looks just like a smaller version of Possum, and there's a recent pic of Possum there too!

Ok, I have posted pictures in the gallery! I think the first one I forgot to put in the pet category so I think it will end up in the kids section, unless someone knows how to move it.

Thanks again for all the help!
