MsOlga:

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even think of any words of comfort because I know that I would be a weepy pile of emotion. Just reading about your loss is so sad. We LOVE our babies, don't we!

All my sympathy,
Debra

oh ((((((((((((((((((((((((((msolga))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I'm so sorry to hear the bad news - but you did absolutely the right thing all along the line and I know he had a horrible start to life but he had a lovely much-loved life with you and clearly adored you.

I know just how you must have felt going home. We're all thinking of you and worrying about how you are feeling right now.

I am so sorry.

You did good, and I am so glad he died peacefully in your arms.

They do so much for us, while asking so little. Still, you made his life better, too, msolga.

Darnit...

(Tears here.)

It sounds like you handled things incredibly well, msolga. I'm glad you had some time with him to say goodbye.

Take care.

Oh no. I'm so sorry, msolga. I was out of town all day yesterday and crossing my fingers for both of you.

Flatty was as much a part of A2K as anyone else, so don't apologize for hogging this thread. In fact, I think he deserves a tribute. Do you have a favorite picture of him you could post? I've pictured him in my mind's eye, but that's not the same.

You loved him and gave him a great life. And he knew you loved him, all the way to the end. A cat can't ask for more than that. You did good, my friend.

(((((HUGE HUG)))))

Msolga--

You were courageous to give Flatty a comfortable death.

Hold your dominion.

When Nekochan's time arrives, the satisfaction of having her around to share a bit of my life's journey will ameliorate the grief of my loss, msolga.

I hope it's the same for you.

There's a little jewel in your crown waiting for you, msolga, for having provided a good life for Flatty.

Oh, Olga, I'm so, so sorry. I just don't have the words. I have sat here crying for your dear Flat Cat and you, and I can't tell you how much I wish I could give you a hug in real life right now, but thoughts will have to do.

Sending love to you, and wishing Flatty peace.

Ditto, olga. Thinking of you and Flats a lot today. You are one good and strong woman and he was a happy kitty because of you.

That's what I was thinking when I woke this morning. That's no small thing.

Thank you all. Your support & comforting woods are appreciated more than you could possibly know.
This morning I feel as though I've been through the wringer. Thank heavens it my day off.
And being in a cat-less home is going to take a bit of adjusting to! Very peculiar.
I think yesterday was such a shock because, clearly, it wasn't what I'd anticipated. Actually, I fully believed that I would have Flatty home for a few days & then would have to have him put to sleep. I privately doubted that he would recover, but was willing to try & hope for the best. I felt he deserved a chance, at least. But I'm very relieved that he was spared a slow, agonizing death. At least there's that. I miss his presence terribly. He was a good & loyal friend, my Flatty.

Msolga--

In Wiccian terms you and Flatty were familiars.

Hold your dominion.

MsOlga.... what can I say. Your love for Flatty is evident, his love for you was as well. I hope I can make that final decision as thoughtfully and kindly as you have.

Rest easy, Flatty.
