How adorable!

My brave Paddy just came running in from the porch like the hammers of hell, he got spooked by the firecrackers! He's sooooooooo skittish, and even tho' he's big and cranky, he's a pussycat, hehe!

Check out the size of those rear paws. When my daughter first saw him, she asked why we had gotten a rabbit.

That's probably no joke. I used to sleep over at a friend's house when we had been indulging, and their cat, an old friend of mine named Bob Evans, would sleep on my chest. When i awoke in the morning, i usually could just barely open my eyes, and it was a few hours before i could see well enough to go home.

How's your son going with doing his share of the cat maintenance chores?

Well, the kitten totally bonded with my son, so for him, it's more like 24x7 cat maintenance. Thus I can't blame him if he forgets to clean the litterbox just yet. As long as he keeps Louis in food and water that's fine, and he's doing it.

Paddy is the most imaginative cat we've had for entertaining himself.

Last night he'd got this little ball and he kept carrying it to himself's shoes and dropping it in so he could fish it out, carrying it up onto furniture to drop it and chase it, bopping it under newspapers (all over the floor as a result of him diving into and under it) so he could dive in after it

.. Rosie watches him amazed and occasionally pounces on him when he's 'hiding' under the newspaper - then they'd have a game of chase and then he'd go back to the ball and she'd sit watching again,

I sort of forgot the TV Very Happy

Of course you forgot the TV, Vivien! Far more inventive & amusing entertainment to be had right under your nose! Laughing
I love cats like Paddy, who sing for their supper ... who'll try anything to amuse their audience. Very Happy I've had a few & they've all been cheeky BOY cats. Some sort of feline gender thing here?

errrm sing for his supper? Shocked

he is getting more cuddly and loving to me at last but hates being picked up and tolerates if for only a very very short time if he's not got other fish to fry! He's still very much himself's cat but won't be picked up by him either.

When he really wants to sleep you couldn't disturb him with gunpowder! you can stroke him, talk to him ..... he sleeps on, no reaction. (other times he loves it and purrs and rolls)

I like my cats to be cuddly sometimes Crying or Very sad His manners are improving slightly, in that he now acknowledges the door opener most of the time instead of just scooting past to see what's for dinner!

Rosie leans into you and turns her cheek into yours (if she's wanting to be picked up), which I find absolutely adorable.

How is Flatty?

(Listening to news from London as I type Vivian. Terrible, terrible ....)

Flatty?

<big sigh>

Collected him from an overnight stay at the vet's yesterday. Somehow he managed to develop an abscess (which I discovered when I was patting him the day before) Big one! So, now he's looking & feeling very sorry for himself ... big shaved area & a line of stitches. <sigh> How this happened (an attack?) I don't know. I'd been housebound, sick for 5 days & he was inside, asleep almost the whole time. Anyway, it happened - now he's feeling very sorry for himself & I'm $320 poorer. <sigh>

Paddy has just come in and skipped rapidly past to go to bed without having to be polite Evil or Very Mad
